Chapter 9

I groaned, hearing my mother shout menacingly downstairs... wait, if she wasn't shouting at me, then who was she shouting at?
Curious, I sat up from my seated position in my comfortable bed. "I will not tolerate this, not one bit!" She screamed. I really hope she never found out about yesterday with the police and Nate. Oh, Nate! I peered down the landing; and like a ninja, I did a forward roll on the floor. Of course, being a ninja and all means your forward rolls are different... and they go sideways-making me of course, bang my head on the wall and curse loudly. Which meant my caring brother came out of his room. At least that meant it wasn't him; having to face the wrath of my deadly mother. He looked at me bemusedly, before shaking his head and retracing his steps back into his room, before saying, "I wouldn't go down there, if I were you." To which he closed the door behind him. Knowing me, I still went to have a look at what was happening.
"w-what?" I screeched as quietly as I could. Feeling annoyed and aggravated; I picked myself up from the stairs and barged down them and out of the front door. Of course, I never thought of the fact that I was still in my pyjama's and had no shoes but nevertheless, I still sat on the porch of the house. Why was my mom, shouting at my dad? And why was he just taking it, like he deserved it... what a wimp! After a few minute's of over-thinking everything; I walked back inside and went to have a shower and change.

After putting my towel back on the radiator, I quickly texted Kate and asked her if she wanted to hang out today, which I soon got a reply of 'On my way.' Did she know where I lived? Okay?
I applied a thin layer of makeup because I wasn't really feeling it today... after all it was a Saturday! I cringed at the sound of the doorbell and laughed when my mother answered it asking who she was and if she was one of my 'delinquent' friends. To which I tore passed my mother and grabbed Kate, pulling her into my bedroom before shutting the door.
"Oh my god! I should've just texted you, shouldnt've I? I'm so sorry! Hah!"
I laughed before asking, "How did you know where I lived?"
"Well, this isn't going to sound creepy at all! I see you walk home sometimes, I don't live far from here." She smiled, awkwardly at me, as I took in the new information she was giving me.
"Wait! Is that a black eye? OH MY GOD! What happened? was it your mom? omg!" She gaped; examining my eye.
"Well..." I laughed nervously, " I sort of was in jail for being drunk last night and I sort of was banging my head on the bars of the jail cell... all is fine ... my brother came so yeah. Actually, I haven't talked to my mother for a while." I shrugged.
She laughed, throwing her head backwards and nearly falling off my bed, in which we were sat on.
"Oh god!" She started coughing, in which made me laugh... it wasn't funny was it?
"Sorry, it's just that, I really; and I mean REALLY didn't expect you to say that!" I smiled as she stood up and started rummaging through my clothes.
"What are you doing?" I stifled a laugh at her intruding.
"I was curious!" I shook my head and my phone started to ring loudly, making us both jump.
"MICHAEL!" I shouted, answering my phone.
"HI! KATTY!"
"HI!" I laughed,
"What are you doing this second?"
