I went to a nearby town to sell afew things when I saw Kirito once again. This time he was with someone. A small girl.
"Yo Kirito." I greeted and he seemed to have noticed me.
"Yo Virus." Kirito greeted and the girl seemed shocked.
"Your Virus?! The hacker Virus!?" She said.
"Yes and you are?" I asked.
"Silica. My name is Silica." She said.
"Nice to meet you, Silica." I said, "So Kirito what makes a solo player like you finally make a party?"
"Well I am helping Silica revive her familiar." Kirito said and I nodded in understanding.
"Oh! It's Silica-chan! You were in that forest all day!" Two boys said rushing up to Silica, "We were getting worried. Party with us next time. We can go wherever you want!"
" I appreciate the offer, but... I've decided to party with these guys for a while." Silica said grabbing my arm along with Kirito's. They soon glared at Kirito and was about to glare at me when they widen their eyes.
"Woah are you the hacker Virus?! The one who can hack into any game!?" They asked.
"Nope." I said and started walking.
"Dang I thought it was him." One of them said.
"Sorry for bringing all this trouble." Silica stated while following me.
"Fans?" I questioned and she nodded, "I know the feeling."
"I'm sure they only intend for me to be the party's mascot..." Silica said, "but even though I realized that, I got conceited when they started calling me Dragon Tamer Silica..."
"Don't worry about it. I'm sure Virus doesn't mind helping you either. We'll definitely make it in time." Kirito said.
"Sure I don't mind. I have nothing better to do any ways." I said shrugging.
"Right." Silica said smiling, " Where are your homes, Kirito, Virus."
"Mine is on floor 50. But I think it'll be easier if we stick together, so I think I'll spend the night here." Kirito said.
"I didn't get a home as the last time I did that people were always watching somewhere. So I'll guess I'm staying here also." I said.
"Really? The cheesecake here is pretty good, you know!" Silica stated and smiled.
"Well, if it isn't Silica?" A voice rang out, "Wow, you made it out of the forest? Good for you."
"Something wrong?" Me and Kirito asked.
"No, it's nothing." Silica said.
"Hm? Where's the lizard? Don't tell me it..." The red head asked.
"Pina died." Silica stated, "But, I'll resurrect her, no matter what!"
"Oh? So you're planning to go to the Hill of Memories? Though, will you be able to reach it at your level?" The red head taunted.
"She will." Kirito said stepping in.
"We will make sure of that." I said as well.
"It's not that dangerous of an area." Kirito stated.
"Have you been seduced by her, too? From what I can see, you're not very strong." The red head asked.
"Seduced? Really? God damn I wish there wasn't so many people in SAO or else I could have remembered your name..." I said scratching my head.
"Let's go." Kirito said and I shrugged and followed.
"Why is she so mean to me?" Silica asked.
"Is SAO the first MMO you've played?" Kirito asked.
"Yes." Silica answered.
"Regardless of the game, many players act differently online. Amongst them, some choose to act as villains. See how our player indicators are green? If commit a crime, your indicator will turn orange. And the worst of that bunch are player killers. They're people woh've committed murder and are known as 'red players'. " Kirito stated.
"Murder?!" Silica said clearly shocked.
"In a normal game, you could find entertainment in playing as a villain. However, Sword Art Online can't be treated the same way. This world isn't all fun and games..." I said distastefully.
"Kirito-san, Virus-san..." Silica started.
"Sorry." Me and Kirito said in unison.
"Ki-Kirito-san, Virus-san, you're a good person!" Silica said, "Kirito-san, you're my savior!"
I chuckled as Silica had stood up and placed her hands on Kirito's.
"Looks like our roles got switched." Kirito stated, "Thanks, Silica."
I stiflted my laugh as I saw Silica turn red. She suddenly sat back down and started fanning herself with her hands.
"Huh? I wonder why our cheesecake isn't here yet. Excuse me! We're still waiting for our dessert!" Silica yelled and I looked away as Kirito looked at me for an explaination. After eating I went to my room I booked here for the night and sat down. I took off my hoodie and mask and took a breath of clear air. Soon a knock came from my door and I opened it to find Kirito outside.
"I'm going to talk to Silica. Want to follow? It's about the Hill of Memories." Kirito stated and I nodded, "Not going to put on your mask?"
"Give me a chance to breath in..." I muttered and he chuckled. I followed him to Silica's room and he knocked on the door.
"Silica, are you still awake?" Kirito asked.
"Ki-Kirito-san?!" I heard Silica yell from inside.
"I forgot to tell you about the 47th floor." Kirito said, "Would tomorrow be better?"
"Now's fine." I heard her say from inside, "Your timing's actually perfe-"
"Is everything alright?" I asked and I heard things moving before the door opened.
"Yeap!" She said and went to her bed where she sat down. Kirito set the table and chairs so he could tell us more about what's happening.
"Silica, something wrong?" Kirito asked as he pulled out a Mirage Sphere.
"No, don't mind me." Silica said and soon noticed me, "E-Eh?"
"I'm Virus." I said and she suddenly turned red.
"S-Sorry!" She said and I waved my hand infront of her.
"It's okay. No one knows what I look like." I said and she calmed down.
"Kirito-san, what's that?" She questioned.
"It's called a Mirage Sphere." Kirito said and sat down. I sat down as well as the Sphere opened up and showed the entire Floor.
"Beautiful!" Silica commented.
"This part is the 47th Floor's town area. And over here is the Hill of Memories. So this is the route we'll be taking..." Kirito said before I look at the door.
"Kirito-" Silica said before Kirito silenced her with a finger to his lips. We both rushed out the door and I saw a figure running down the stairs.
"Too late." I muttered.
"What was that?" Silica asked.
"Someone was eavesdropping." Kirito stated.
"B-But sounds are supposed to be inaudible across doors unless you knock..." Silica reasoned as we went back inside.
"It's a different story if you upgrade your Hearing skill." I countered, "Not many would bother to do that though."
"Why would they eavesdrop on us?" Silica questioned.
"That is the question we need to find out." I said and we continued talking about the pathes we are taking.
