Kacchan was able to find a place for us to work at. We began meeting up there for the whole year.

Most of the time, Kacchan trained for the hero course entrance exam while I worked on the gauntlets.

We both worked hard until the day finally came.

The day of the exams. The written part is the only thing that Kacchan and I will do together. After that, we won't see each other until after the exams are over.

I got ready as fast as I could and grabbed one of the gauntlets I had made. I quickly made my way out of the apartment and headed over to UA.

"Oi! Deku!"

I turned to find Kacchan approaching me.

"Hey Kacchan! Who would've thought we'd meet halfway?"

Once Kacchan got to my side, we started to walk again and made small talk.

"I'm kinda nervous... I mean I know that all I have to do is drop it off but what if something goes wrong?"

"Don't be stupid. We tested it out several times."

Kacchan glances at me and sighed.

"You already finished the hard part so stop whining."

I was surprised by his response. I mean, yeah we became closer and all. But this is the first time he's encouraged me... I think.

Either way, I'm grateful for his words.

I smiled and sent a nod his way. We walked the rest of the way in silence.

Once we made it to the gates, we both hesitated a bit.

"Well, I guess we're here."

"Then what are we waiting for, let's go nerd."

"Oh, right!"

Kacchan and I made our way into the building and went to the exam room. We finished at around the same time and quickly met up before going our separate ways.

"Good luck, Kacchan!"

He simply nodded before walking off. I turned and made my way to the room I was supposed to drop off my invention.

Once I made it to the room, I walked in to see tables filled with different types of gadgets and creations.

"Hello! Are you here to drop off your creation?"

I jumped when I heard a women's voice next to me.

"A-ah! Yes I am."

"Okay then! Can I get your name young man?"

"Izuku Midoriya!"

"Let me find your designated number."

She smiled at me before checking her clipboard. Once she found my name she grabbed two pieces of paper and a pencil and handed them to me.

"Alright, the first paper has your table number. The second one is for a written explanation on your invention."

"Okay... do I just write about how it works or...?"

"Yes but you also have to write about your inspiration for making it."

"Oh! Thank you."

"Of course! And good luck!"

I smiled and made my way down the aisle to find my table.

'Number 152... where is number 152?'

I looked around the many tables and numbers until I finally found mine.

'Ah! There it is.'

I place the gauntlet on the table and quickly write everything I need to.

Once I finished, I made sure I had all of my belongings and then made my way out of the room.

I waved to the lady that helped me early then left.

'Alright, I did it!'

I pulled out my phone and glanced at the time.

12:40

'Maybe I should get something to eat before going home...'

I started to think about where I could go and got lost in thought. I finally decided what I wanted when I suddenly run into someone.

"I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings!"

"There's no problem at all!"

I look up and see who I ran into. She had long, pink hair that was held back by a pair of goggles. Her eyes were a bright yellow and she wore a positive expression.

"My name is Mei Hatsume! You're Izuku Midoriya, correct?"

"I- how?"

"I happened to overhear you say it to that lady in the support room earlier."

"You're going to the support course too?"

"Yup! I have a talent for creating things."

I smiled at her while she continued to make her point.

"Um... Hatsume, do you want to join me for lunch? I was about to go to this café close by."

"Sure! You can tell me about your inventions while we're there!"

We made our way to the café as Hatsume told me about what she made for her submission.

When we got to the café, we went inside and ordered what we wanted. While we waited, Hatsume finished up what she was she was saying.

"So Midoriya, what did you make for the exam?"

I looked at her and shyly smiled.

"I made these gauntlets based on my childhood friend's quirk. He always amazes me and I know he'll make a great hero one day. If I could be by his side as his support, I'd be really happy!"

"Ah! So that's your main inspiration for joining the support course?"

"I guess, yeah!"

We finally got our food and started to eat as we continued our conversation.

When we both finished, we decided to exchange phone numbers and say our goodbyes.

Hopefully both Hatsume and I can get accepted into the support course.
