Am I interrupting?

Lena got me in the face with water, our laughter filling the air as I tried to get her back. Ten minutes and neither of us was backing down, both of us trying to make the biggest splash - me obviously without using my powers of course. I was laughing so hard when she splashed me a second time I ended up getting a face full of water.

Deciding it was time to end our mini battle, I reached out to grab her, my hand just managing to reach her. I pulled her back to me, her head on my shoulder as she tried to wriggle out of my grip. She knew what was about to happen, but her laughter was making it hard for her to say anything.

"I-I give up." Catching her breath, Lena looks up at me, my arms not moving from around her waist. "You win." I won, why wasn't I letting her go?

"Am I interrupting?" Cat's voice made us both look over at the doors to the pool, my hands slowly letting Lena go. Why didn't I hear her coming?

"Not at all." Lena smiled at Cat, not moving from in front of me.

"Good. We have just had a phone call from Jack, he would like to have lunch with the three of us." I tried to stop myself from frowning and didn't do a good job. "Beth didn't like the idea of me eating alone or sitting inside trying to work while on a holiday. I guess no one told her I work for the President. So long as there isn't a major emergency in the next five and a half days I'm perfectly fine." Cat looked at the two of us. "Anyway, we need to be at the main villa in an hour and you two need showers."

As soon as she was done, Cat was back inside like she never ventured out at all. I focused on my hearing to find out why I didn't hear her coming when I realised, I was so focused on Lena everything faded away. Even now, I was listening to her heart beating as fast as mine.

"I guess it's a good thing you heard- Shit." At her curse, I looked into her green eyes to realise what was wrong. I wasn't wearing my glasses. "Do you think she realised?" Alex was going to kill me when I got home.

"Um, she definitely saw but right now we don't have time to think about it. She wasn't going to tell when she thought it was me two years ago, I doubt she'd do it now." I didn't know what to do, the disappointment in my chest surprising me. Why was I disappointed? Our fake relationship is still plausible. So why was I hurt that Lena's heart was only beating so fast because I forgot I didn't have glasses on?

Pulling back to the edge of the pool, I pushed myself out and held a hand out to help Lena. "I guess it is a good thing I heard her, if only I had remembered my glasses." She took my hand and I effortlessly pulled her from the pool, my other hand brushing her hip as I steadied her on the edge.

"We need to be more careful. This time it was Cat, next time it's Morgan Edge." I dropped my hands as Lena spoke, nodding in agreement.

"I agree, but why would Edge come to our villa? He hates all three of us." Smiling, she matched it, her eyes lighting up the brightest green I've ever seen.

"You know what I mean." Lena stepped away to loungers we had left our things and grabbed my glasses. "Now lets get moving, this is going to be a long lunch."

I followed her, picking my glasses from her hand as I tried not to stare as she pulled her top on despite being soaked from the pool still. My mouth went dry as it stuck to her body making it even harder to look away, so I simply started walking inside, leaving Lena staring after me confused.

Getting upstairs, I started the shower and was in as soon as it warmed up, using my super speed to wash as quickly as possible. I was out of the shower in record time and Lena wasn't even upstairs until I was changed, about to walk out to talk to Cat.

"Here's your book." She held my book out to me, a page dog-eared to hold my place. I took the book, smiling at her.

"Thank you. I wanted to make sure you didn't have to rush." My smile fell as her eyes turned cold and hard.

"Nice to know you think I need the extra time." Side-stepping me, I barely processed what she said when the bathroom door slammed shut. Not wanting to pry - okay  I really wanted to - I focused my hearing on basic hearing, giving Lena her privacy. Why couldn't I just keep my mouth shut? This week was going to ruin our friendship at this rate, day two and already she was slamming doors, one more and she might not be speaking to me.

With a sigh I leave to give her time to get ready, heading downstairs to wait and hopefully calm down before I got myself in more trouble with Lena. I was just at the bottom of the stairs when I spotted Cat with a wine glass heading to the living room. Not moving I didn't realise I was staring until Cat spoke from her place just out of view.

"The last time you stared at me anything like right now, you were throwing me from my balcony." My jaw hit the floor and I stumbled down the final step to look at her. She was the picture of composed, like she hadn't just uttered my biggest secret out loud.

"I-I-I-I don't know what you're talking about." I could not let her win so easily, too many people would kill me. Standing at the edge of the room like an idiot, Cat sipped her wine and raised an eyebrow at me, the room getting warm under her stare. Trying to swallow past the lump forming in my throat I refused to give her the satisfaction of being right.

Rolling her eyes, Cat gestures to the couch next to her. "I'm not going to tell anyone. I tried firing you once and it didn't work; I still don't know how you did that." I blinked, hoping to Rao that this would be a dream. Please wake up, please wake up.

Nope. Cat is still in front of me waiting for me to acknowledge her. "Why are you so determined to see me as Supergirl?" If she wasn't going to be convinced otherwise, may as well get some answers.

"Because I knew there was something about you the moment you walked in my office, not just being a reporter but something greater. I just want to know I'm not crazy because that stunt you pulled messed with my head for a while." Her eyes searched mine, for some form of truth to everything I was hiding from her.

I was about to answer when she tilted her head. Not good. "Besides, if you aren't Supergirl there are only so many other theories a woman can have." She was baiting me, I knew it and still I fell for it.

"What theories?" Why was I entertaining this? She will only make me tell her.

Cat looked me up and down. "If you aren't Supergirl then you have a connection to her, it's the only explanation for the quotes you get. My first theory is that you knew her when she got here, which would explain the reason behind trusting you. Second theory, you are family. Thirdly, you're in a relationship with her and cheating on the wonderful woman upstairs, but you're you and that isn't a possibility." By the end, Cat was smug. We both knew she was right and this was just an act, that is was a question of when I would break.

I didn't know what to do, my mind was blank and my ears were ringing. There was nothing I could say that wouldn't damage this week for Lena, no matter what Cat was going to be a problem. Why did I agree to this? This week was never going to be a vacation, there is always something in the way.

"I do not understand how I didn't figure out this whole thing when I met you? You truly are the worst at keeping secrets." Lena's voice made me jump, the sight of her not helping me find my voice.

Beautiful, stunning, amazing. She was all of those things and more in a simple (but expensive) pair of trousers and silk blouse. "Um." I'm pretty sure she would need my hearing to have heard that. Actually, why didn't I hear her come in? That was becoming a thing now.

"Never mind. We have to be at the villa soon and I don't have the patience to deal with this right now, so lets go to lunch and try not to clue another person in on your secret." Lena hadn't even finished talking when she stun around and stalked to the door, Cat following and me still trying to make myself move.
