the room was silent, except for my gentle breathing and the occasional sound of my pencil scribbling onto the paper. but the silence was soon interrupted by my step brother, johnny. the door opened, revealing his tall figure. "yo y/n, just wanted to let you know that mark is coming over" he flashed his infamous smile, getting a nod in response. i was blunt on the outside, but on the inside, my heart was doing leaps. mark was johnny's best friend. he was also my crush. johnny didn't know, mark didn't know, only i knew. i was far too shy and introverted to confess, and mark probably sees me as a little sister. once johnny had left, i returned back to my studies. "just forget about him y/n, forget about your feelings" i muttered underneath my breath, heaving out a long sigh.

around 10 minutes later, i could hear laughs and shouts coming from the living room. and then, that familiar voice rang out. mark is here. i could feel my cheeks already heat up, just at the sound of his voice. i then realised how i looked. my hair was messed up, my glasses perched on my nose. i had grey sweatpants and an oversized sweater on, i looked like a homeless person. i quickly rushed around, putting on a pastel pink shirt and some grey shorts. i then brushed my hair out long, fixing my glasses up. "yo, how's your sister?" i heard mark's voice from the hallway, my eyes widening. "she's just been studying a lot lately" johnny's voice came in, causing me to bite the inside of my cheek. the two didn't say anything after that, i guessed they had gone to johnny's room. i sighed, before exiting my room to go get something to drink.

i went to get a glass from the cupboards, but then i realised that johnny had unpacked the dishwasher last, and his 6 foot ass just HAD to put the glasses on the top shelf. i groaned, standing on my tiptoes, trying to reach the glasses, but failed miserably. i heard a low chuckle from behind me, and turned around to see mark. i could already feel my heart pick up it's pace. he had some nice tan pants on, and just a plain black shirt. his ebony hair looked so soft, i just wanted to run my hands through it. "need any help?" he raised an eyebrow, a smile playing on his pink tinted lips. i blushed, nodding awkwardly. he giggled, before effortlessly grabbing a glass, handing it over to me. i smiled awkwardly. "t-thanks" i stammered, my cheeks dusting pink. "you're welcome, you look cute by the way" he winked, and then walked off, leaving me a flustered mess in the kitchen. "why does he do this to my heart?" i laid a hand over my heart, which was beating a million miles per second.

i filled up the glass with water, and walked back upstairs to my room. just as i sat down to study, the door burst open, revealing johnny. "HI!! do you wanna watch a movie with us?" he smiled widely, my brows furrowing. "i don't know, my exams are soo-" johnny cut me off by grabbing my arm, pulling me out of my seat. "you've been studying for so long silly, just take a break and watch a movie with us" he smiled as i bit my bottom lip. i groaned, leaning my head back. "okay fine! but if i fail my exams, i will murder you" i shot him a death glare as he giggled. "you're too tiny to murder me" he smirked, pulling me out of my room. "say goodbye to your kneecaps then" i growled under my breath, but loud enough for johnny to hear. he just laughed loudly, dragging me into the living room. "guess who's joining us todayyyy!!" johnny pulled me into the living room, where mark was seated on one of the couches. i kept a blunt face as mark smiled happily. johnny pushed me onto the couch, causing me to glare at him. "you 6 foot bitch" i mentally cussed at him.

the two boys started the movie, while i just sat there with my arms crossed. i could feel mark's gaze on me every now and then, which made me a little flustered, but i managed to keep my cool. "awh man, we're out of snacks" johnny whined, pausing the movie. "i'll go to the convenience store, be right back my dudes" he stood up, throwing mark and i a peace sign. "such an idiot" i muttered under my breath, mark giggling. once johnny left, it dawned on me that i was home alone with mark. me. and mark. alone. shit. i could feel my face heat up, my palms getting sweaty. "so i heard your exams are soon, how are you feeling about them?" luckily, mark was quite a social butterfly, so he managed to strike up a conversation. "u-uhm, i'm a little nervous, but i've been studying well" i refused to make eye contact as i nodded awkwardly. "i can tell, you've always been super smart" mark smiled as i blushed.

"i'm guessing johnny hyung is pretty annoying huh?i've seen the way you look at him" mark kept asking questions, and i slowly started to relax. i giggled, moving my eyes to his beautiful hazel orbs. "i may not be tall enough to punch him in the face, but that doesn't mean his kneecaps are safe" i smirked as mark threw his head back laughing. we continued to talk, and it was a lot of fun! i felt completely comfortable with mark now, and i was able to talk to him and actually look him in the eye. after another 20 minutes, we heard the door open, and johnny's loud ass run in. "i got the snacks!! and i see you two are getting along well" he smirked, my cheeks dusting pink. "we are, you're sister is pretty awesome" mark turned to me, his eyes glimmering. i smiled and nodded, looking back at johnny. "next thing i know, i'm going to be an uncle" johnny laid a hand over his heart dramatically, my jaw dropping. i threw a pillow at him, causing him to laugh. "let's just finish the movie, or you can say goodbye to your kneecaps hyung" mark and i laughed as johnny rolled his eyes, placing the snacks on the table.

we went through the rest of the movie, and i felt way more comfortable and happier now, not stressed about my exams at all!! once the movie ended, johnny was starting to have a sugar crash. mark and i laughed as he could barely even stand up. "alright, goodnight you big sleepy ass" i nudged johnny's shoulder as he groaned. i laughed, turning to mark. "thanks for a great night mark, i-i enjoyed your company" i blushed as mark smiled widely. "you're so cute, goodnight y/n!" he pulled me into his arms, resting his chin on the top of my head. i blushed furiously, but soon relaxed into his embrace. "you guys are gross, but i love you both and you'd make a great couple" johnny mumbled, mark and i laughing. i removed myself from mark's embrace, waving goodnight to the two and walking upstairs. i could feel my heart racing, that hug with mark made me feel so warm and fuzzy! i couldn't stop smiling as i got ready for bed, i guess i truly was whipped for him. "he's so sweet and handsome and oh my god, i'm in love with him" my mind was racing with thoughts as i flicked the main lights off.

just as i was about to get into my bed, the door flung open, revealing mark. "mark? what are y-" he walked towards me, cupping my cheeks and crashing his lips onto my own. i got taken aback, stumbling a little, but mark wrapped his arms around my waist and pressed our bodies together. my eyes were widened. mark is kissing me. my crush. is kissing. me. MARK LEE IS KISSING ME!! he pulled away after a few seconds, connecting our foreheads together. "i couldn't stop thinking about you, i just needed to feel your lips against mine, i love you" his voice was breathy, my heart racing. "i-i love you too mark" i whispered, watching his lips curve into a smile. he pushed me down on my shoulders, so i fell onto the soft covers on the bed. he hovered over me, and then pressed his lips against mine. this time i kissed back, letting our lips move in sync together. i placed my hands around his neck, gently tugging at his black locks. a little groan came out of his mouth as he gently bit on my bottom lip, taking it in between his teeth. he bit and sucked on my bottom lip before pulling away, noticing i was running out of breath.

we both laughed as mark flopped down next to me, laying an arm over my waist. "so, you wanna be my girlfriend?" he turned his head, a bright smile painted on his lips. "of course" i replied, giggling as he started to tickle my sides. "ugh finally, told you that you guys would make a great couple" johnny stood by the door, leaning on the doorframe. he started singing terribly while making hearts. mark looked over at me, a smirk on his lips. "i know how to get rid of him" he muttered, before shifting so he was hovering over me. he leaned down, connecting our lips together. "sitting in a tree- AAAHHHH MY EYES!!!!!" we both giggled into the kiss as we heard johnny run away. "i love you" mark smiled, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead. i smiled, running my hand through his hair. "i love you too" i replied. we both got under the covers, and fell asleep in each other's embrace.
