''No,no no,Stef.Those lights go to the living room.'' Caroline groaned in frustration.
''Sorry,boss.I'll fix it.'' Stefan smirked and saluted and Caroline rolled her eyes.
Stefan and her were decorating the house with lights.She decided that Stefan could be very clumsy when he got confused and lights and Carolines comands confused him.
I was adorable,really,Caroline thought.
Enzo and Damon were sent to get a proper Christmas tree,Matt and Rebekah were setting up the lights outside,Lexi was wrapping up some presents in her room,Bonnie and Jeremy were trying to bake cookies and Elena and Lexi were doing some last minute shopping.
''Maybe I'll do better with something to inspire me…''Stefan grinned and looked at Caroline sheepishly.
''And what would inspire you?''Caroline asked,getting on her tip toes to pin the lights above the terrible painting that was hanging in the hallway of boarding house.
''I'd be inspired if you'd tell me what you got me for Christmas.''
''Nope,not happening.'' Caroline rolled her eyes,but still smiled.
''Oh,c'mon.''Stefan groaned.He's been trying to get her to tell him what she got him for Christmas but Caroline was so stubborn and wouldn't say a thing.
''Well,it's definitely better then a snow globe you got me when you were my secret Santa.'' Caroline grinned.
''You're still not over that?'' Stefan asked,little smile on his face.He seemed to be smiling a lot when he was with Caroline.
''Nope.I'm expecting a big present this year,Salvatore.''Caroline said.
Stefan wrinkled his nose.
''Jesus,what is that smell?'' Stefan asked.
''Oh,just ignore it.Jeremy and Bonnie are buring cookies again.''Caroline chuckled.
''Shouldn't we go and help 'em?'' Stefan raised an eyebrow.
''Trust me,you don't wanna go in there.I tried.'' Caroline snickers.
''Why not?'' Confusion is obvious on Stefan's face.
''They're making out ninety percent of the time.That's why they burned so many cookies.'' Caroline chuckled. ''It's actually really cute.''
''Thanks for the warning.'' Stefan said.
''Okay,so,which ones?'' Stefan asked.
Caroline turned around to see Stefan holding up to boxes of lights.
''The little ones,obvioulsy.'' Caroline rolled her eyes,but smiled fondly.

''Hey,Elena,whats up?'' Caroline greeted.
''Hey,Care,I'm in the mall,and I cant think of a Christmas present for Stefan.A little help?'' Elena helt her phone between her shoulder and cheek,picking up a Henley from a rack.
''Geez…I actually have no idea.Um…what did you have in mind?''
''I literallly can't come up with anything.What did you get him?'' Elena asked,hope in her voice evident even over the phone.
''Um…I didn't buy him anything.I made him a present.'' Caroline murmured.
''Oh,that's…pretty cute actually.'' Elena smiled.
''You should get him a new copy of The Great Gatsby.He's been complaining that Damon spilled bourbon over the last one.''
''Thanks,Care,you're a life saviour.'' Elena said gleefully.
''No problem.''
''Love you.'' Elena said as she hurried towards a bookstore.
''Love you too.''Caroline said and hang up.

''There's a Home Alone 2 today on TV.Wanna watch it with Stefan and Care?'' Bonnie asked Jeremy,leaning against a kitchen counter and watching as Jeremy placed icing on cookies.
''Sure.'' Jeremy looked up and smiled at her.
''This is gonna be nice.'' Bonnie said.
''What,my cookies?'' Jeremy grinned loopsidedly.
''No,you idiot.Spending Christmas with everyone.You,Elena,Caroline,Stefan,Lexi,Matt,Rebekah,Damon…even Enzo.It's like one big dysfunctional but happy family with a lot of drama.''
''It is nice.And we should do it more often.'' Jeremy agreed kissing the top of Bonnie's nose.
''Aww,you two are adorable.'' Caroline squeaked and clapped her hands as she and Stefan entered the kitchen.
''Nice hat,Stefan.'' Jeremy smirked and Stefan rolled her eyes.
In the middle of decorating,Caroline placed the Santa hat on his head.
''Shut up.He looks cute.'' Caroline grinned.
''Yeah.Why aren't you wearing one?'' Stefan taunted.
''Exactly,Jer.I'll get you one.'' Bonnie smirked and went off to find a hat,
''Not look what you did.'' Jeremy pouted.
''Oh lighten up.Its Christmas eve.''

''Guys,I'm home!''Elena called out and slammed the doors behind her.
She took of her beanie and shook the snow out of her hair.
''Hey,'lena.'' Caroline came out of the kitchen.
''Hey.Wow,you and Stefan did nice work.''Elena said,looking around herself and admiring the decorations Stefan and Caroline had put on.
''Thanks.Enzo and Damon should come home with the tree any second so we can decorate it.'' Caroline beamed.
''Great,I'm just gonna go and dump the bags in my room.'' Elena said and she was gone in a second.

''Is it okay?'' Damon asked.
''Its perfect Damon.'' Elena smiled gently at her boyfriend,who pulled her into his side.
''Yeah,it really is.'' Caroline agreed,handing Enzo a cut of hot chocolate
''Thank you gorgeous.''Even Enzo dmiled,not smirked.
And as the stood watching the tree,Stefan thanked God for the people that suronded him.

After decorating the tree,Rebekah,Matt,Bonnie and Enzo went home.Caroline decided to stay and have a sleepover with Stefan,Elena amd Damon went up in their room to do god knows what,Lexi went out with some guy she met and Jeremy was in his room playing X-box.
Caroline and Stefan were sitting in front of the fireplace,drinks in hands.
''So decorating the tree didn't turn out to be a total disaster.'' Stefan grinned.
''Even Enzo and Damon behaved.'' Caroline agreed.
''Its feels like were a family.I like it.''
''Me too.'' Caroline agreed and snuggled in Stefan's side.
Stefan put an arm around her shoulders and kissed her temple.
''You're my est friend.'' He says.

''You're my best friend too.'' She responds.
