Close the Door.

I am in shock. Henry proposed.

The laughter and joy from the people in the restaurant can be matched with my surprise. I take my time to look at Henry. The bastard had the audacity to act smug as if he hadn't just forced me into saying yes. We've talked about this that we would have a mutual agreement.
I look at the ring.

"It's classy isn't it?" Henry asked.
I didn't even answer. "Let's go."

We walked out with his hands on the small of my back. I withheld the urge to stuff his nose with the ring and slap the consciousness out of him.

When we got into the car, I turned to him “Why did you do that Henry”.
“What? I thought you were ready for this big move” Henry desperately gazed into my eyes. For a rich guy, he certainly knew how to pout and beg.

Suck Up

“No, I’m not Henry, I am not ready for this, for marriage”. I look out the window and see a man leaning on the wall.

Henry continued to blabber but I could only see the man with the light bulb above his head. It has such an effect on his appearance. It was as if he was — glowing.

He cute though.

His hazel eyes stare deep in my soul, immediately I turn to Henry.

“God, you’re not even listening to me right now, are you?”
“You know what Henry, you are so right, I'm leaving, for good.”
“Like hell you are with your fat self, SIT DOWN.” His eyes were blazing with fury. “You know what leave, I don’t need your obesity to ruin my image any way, Get out.”

I stepped out of the car, I’ve never felt so humiliated in my life. Tears started to run down my cheeks. To make it worse the rain started falling, I guess I have to call a driver. As I was about to cross the road.

“You need a ride?”
I turned and looked in the direction of the voice, It's Mr. Handsome.

“I- I umm- I don’t know you; I can’t get into a car with a stranger.” I turn my head.

“Okay. How do you plan to get home?”

“I’ll call a taxi” I dig up my bag to take out my phone and then proceed to search for a driver’s number.

“Do you want me to stay until the driver comes?” He arches an eyebrow.

Cute

“No, that’s okay” Immediately Grew answers the call.

“Hello, Ms. Keat?” I look up to the sky, thank God.

“Yes, Hello Grew, it's raining and I need you to pick me up-”

“I didn’t hear what you, Ms. Keat” Damn it, I’m soaking wet.

“Umm, it's raining and I am at Bouffer, can you pick me up at the front”

“Sure Ms. Keats, be there in a minute I’m around the corner” He hangs up.

Yes, praise the Almighty, and now the awkward silence between me and Mr. Handsome.

Crickets chirp in the night.

“So…. Mis Keats, I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. Although your driver is on the way, I can still wait with you.”

“Okay," I smile not wanting to be impolite, "Thanks for your consideration” I see head lights pull in through the entrance. Grew toots his horn.  “That’s me, OH, I didn't catch your name.”

“Hassan”

I wave and quickly make my way to Grew, I swiftly open and sit down. He pulls off in silence, that’s what I like about Grew, he doesn’t pest me like other drivers. Soon enough he pulls up at my gate. I step out and trudge to my doorway.

Open the door, slam it, take off my boots, my blouse, my pants and hop to the tub. I take a quick shower and think of how in one day I succeeded in getting a proposal and ending a relationship.

I throw myself in the bed, “This is heaven, right here” I snuggle up in my sheets and think of Hassan. He could’ve been a killer, oh well, at least I avoided that.

I drift off to sleep.

The next morning, I wake up crying.

“He called me fat” I sob and Tea my cat jumps on the bed to comfort me. Now I'm anxious about what is next in my life. I drag myself to my phone on the bedside table.

8:45 am Saturday

Tea jumps out my hands, but that’s okay they always leave sooner or later. I can't help but think how pathetic I am right now, I'm male stereotyping my cat. Tea meows and I understand what she is telling me to do. So, I wipe my eyes and go into the bathroom to shower and fix myself up. By the time I step out the shower, I swear I feel a little bit better. Looking at myself in the mirror, I love my thick thighs, I really love my figure. I wonder why people attack my weight though, it hurts but I try not to feel like it does.

Sigh

After clothing myself, I go into my kitchen, make pancakes and feed my cat. I can assure you it didn’t go as fast as it sounded.

12:30 am Saturday

So, I clean, I think I have OCD. A black, plus-sized woman with OCD. After cleaning the house, I decided that I'm going shopping, I need food, and other necessities. I grab my keys and handbag and step out locking the front door. I start the car meanwhile looking if I have everything in my bag. CRAP!! My purse is missing, it must have fallen to the ground when I was digging through my bag last night.

Change of plans, I have to go to the bank to cancel those cards and get new ones.

"WHY DOES MY LIFE SUCK SO MUCH!!!" I screech as I beat the steering wheel. Just as I am having my meltdown, a kid rides past with his eyes wide open. I cant help but chuckle how crazy I must have looked to the kid.

I pray you have an easier life child.
