Chapter 5

The last bell rings.

Schools over.

We have like an hour break until after school activities, which for me is the music dale band(auditions).

So in this time period we just hang, eat, prepare.

While I exit class I get rapid texts from Jacob saying to meet him by the football field behind school.

Ugh, what does this guy want now?

Hasn't he had enough food for the day!

I make my way to him and as I get closer to the football field, slowly i get a glimpse of Jacob.

He's leaning against the fence that covers the football field, repeatedly looking down at his phone with a nervous expression.

"I don't have anymore food" I great Jacob as I get closer to him and I notice him not respond, he looks disappointed more like worried.

"What?" I question him and notice as he takes a deep breathe to answer me.

"V" he pauses, like he's scared to inform me what's going on in his head, he slowly proceeds "I'm going to be picking you up after school" he stutters.

"You're so useless, honestly you always waste my time, you pick me up from school every day!!!" I snap and begin to storm off.

"We're  gonna be  headed to the hospital....not home" he stammers.

I slowly turn around waiting for him to expand what he is trying to get out.

"J...Jules had um like breathing problems at her school...I don't know like a panic attack or something....they just told me she was grasping for air and it was really hard to keep her to stay awake." He softly speaks while I witness him shred a tear.

I slowly walk towards him, pause right In front of and loosely let myself lean against the fence with him.

"Is-is mom and dad with her at the hospital"I ask.

"Yeah"

"Is...is she gonna be okay" I choke.

He looks at me with a response like he has no idea, normally he would just lie to make the situation better, I guess now he's not so sure.

"She's... No.... She's not gonna like die today right?" I try to speak.

He doesn't respond.

He looks at me and slowly grabs my hand, softly rubbing it, trying to make me comfortable.

After Sophia's death this past summer, i don't think anyone is ready for another one.

There's a silence between me and Jacob, not an awkward one but a silence I think we needed.

"I better start moving" I slowly start to speak.

"Yeah yeah okay, I'll see you after school" he stutters and starts to walk the opposite direction I'm heading to.

...

I enter the auditorium where the auditions are being held and spot Jayden and Emma already taken there seats at the judges table if that's what you want to call it.

"Hellooooo it's about time you came, we are just about to start" Emma stands up and points me my seat on the right while Emma is in between me and Jayden facing a huge stage where the auditions are held.

I take a breath and place my bag next to the table.

"Are you okay?" Emma asks.

I nod which was stupid because she definitely did not believe me.

"Let me rephrase, what happened?"

"Nothing really I guess...um... It's not.... Important, I can tell you after school" I stutter not wanting to talk about it and I see that Emma understands and drops the topic.

"Nick....oh...Nick....smith....NICK SIMTH!" Jayden speaks and shoves his clipart checklist board thingy with the list of the people who are auditioning in front of my face which may I add is pointless since I have my own.

"YOU'RE COUSIN, NICK SMITH!" he shares useless information.

"Yes I know, long story but he asked to audition since he wanted to give it a shot" I say very calmly.

"Is he any good?" Emma asks.

"Like I know he had a thing for music I guess but I never thought he wanted to get serious."

The auditions are for a few hours, it's basic, you come up on stage, share a bit of information about yourself and perform, then we make our decion at the end and let you know after a week or two.

The auditions started pretty good we are almost halfway through the list.

Till now I haven't spotted anyone that I feel would fit like a glove on our band but I'm keeping an open mind.

You never know.

What we are looking for our band would mainly be a guitarist but none of us in the band have set roles for example Jayden is mainly the drummer but at times he's lead singer. We all switch places to make and fit the song better, so in short I guess you can say we want this new member to gel.

The next person to audition is Noah Russle, I spot him near the stage preping himself up beside Alexander. I've notice Alexander doesn't really hang out with anyone else except Noah and vice versa. Well they both are new to this school but it's more than that, it's seems they have been friends for a longer time, like the reason they have been friends is not because they are the new kids.

Noah doesn't look bad actually, he has dark black wavy hair Facing above, pale-ish skin, dark deep black eyes and cute dimples. Oh and he's very tall like maybe around 5'10.

He doesn't look like the "music" type.

I'm back!!!
It's been too long since I've updated but I couldn't find the time
