You take another sip of your boba as you hustle down the hallway. A few other students who either were deciding to skip class or didn't care how late they glance confusedly as you pick up your pace to a run once you glance at the nearest clock and see that the bell would ring in less than a minute.
Seeing your class in the distance, you breathe a sigh of relief. You finally reach the door, and the second you got both of your feet in the doorway, the bell rang echoes through the room.
Your teacher peers up from her desk and sees your heavily breathing state. Before she can scold you for being tardy for the second time this week, you speak up, "Technically Sensei, both my feet were in the door before the bell rings so I'm not late."
She sighs and shakes her head, laughing quietly. You were lucky you had Sako first block, she was by far the most laid back and had a soft spot for you. "If you get to your seat by the time I get to the front of the class, I won't mark you late."
You give yourself a mental high five and fight down a smile before quickly sliding into your seat in the back of the class.
"So what's your excuse today?" Himara whispers to you as Sensei begins the lesson.
You raise up your hand and show her the boba you had gotten this morning. Usually, the boba that you occasionally got didn't leave you scrambling to class. Today was an exception. Your phone had fallen in between your bed and the wall, and you had woken up half an hour late. Sure, you could have just skipped the drink, but was that really an option?
"What flavor?" She asks as you give her the cup.
"Caramel," You take out your textbook and place it on the table. She gives you a smile as she takes a sip of your drink.
Upon tasting the sweet liquid, her eyes widen slightly. "Damn, this is good. New boba hop?"
"New barista."
"Cute?"
You shake your head, "Yes, but she wasn't my type."
Himara chuckles and hands the drink back to you, "They need to hire some cute guys, their traffic would seriously increase."
"If you had a boba boyfriend he could get us free drinks," You say while copying down the notes on the board.
An annoyed look crosses her face, "That reminds me," She fishes something out of her backpack and hands it to you.
You roll your eyes and open the letter in messy handwriting.
