In the Morning, everybody went off to do their own things. Geoff went to work in the mines, Linda went to prepaid food for the day and watch Ashley, and Ashley was acting like any baby would. Linda kneeled down next to Ashley. "Oh little one, if only I was able to be in your mind and find out what's causing you to do all of these non-understandable things."
Linda brushed the hairs out of Ashley's face when Geoff came in three the door. He had books from his hands up to the bottom of his chin. "I got as many as I can." he said. Linda helped Geoff place the books on the dinning room table and sighed. "We are never going to find out what's wrong with her." Geoff rapped his arm around Linda. "She is only a child. This may just be one of those fazes."
Linda sighed again. They both sat down. Geoff started looking at the history books and Linda looked at the fantasy books. With out anybody noticing, Ashley wondered outside. Running outside the front door was a rabbit. Like any little girl would, Ashley started to chase the rabbit. Ashley got up on both feet and started to walk. "GEOFF!" Screamed Linda. Geoff came running outside, grabbed Ashley, and walked back inside.
Linda grabbed a bottle of milk and gave it to Ashley, to make her fall asleep faster. Once Ashley was asleep Geoff placed her in her crib and went back into the living room where Linda was. Linda started to cry. Geoff sat down next to her pulling her into his chest. "We'll find out what's causing Ashley to act unnatural." said Geoff rubbing Linda's back.
Once Linda started to calm down a very loud raw drew by. Linda and Geoff ran to Ashley's room. The source of the noise. Once in the room, they found Ashley standing holding the skull. Ashley wasn't the baby she was five minutes ago. She was now a fully grown five year old. The brain of a five year old, the look of a five year old, the vocabulary of a five year old, and the speaking ability of a five year old.
"A-A-Ashley?" said Geoff. "Daddy, there is a note for you." said Ashley. She held out a note and walked over to Geoff, handing him the note. The note was a piece of burnt paper, tied up with a piece of the stem of a flower, and a dark tint of orange. Geoff took the note. Ashley walked away and sat on the floor admiring the skull. Geoff opened the note and Linda read it over his shoulder. It read
This skull is indestructible. You will never break it, get rid of it, be able to color it, nothing will be able to happen to this skull. You can try but you will never succeed. This skull is what is causing these changes with Ashley. The only way to break the spell is with a kiss from her True Loves Kiss.
"True Loves Kiss? Is this skull mental? She's only weeks old." said Linda. Ashley stood up and cleared her throat. "If you haven't realized I am five." she said. Leaving Geoff and Linda in total shock. Ashley grabbed the skull and place it on her window framing. The black of the night defined and brought out the beauty of the grey of the skull. "Please don't touch my skull. It's my favorite item I own."
Linda and Geoff shock their head to show that they won't touch the skull. Ashley went into her bed, grabbed the pillow and blanket, put it on the floor, then fell asleep. "Why are you sleeping on the floor silly?" chuckled Geoff. "Cause, no five year old of this here age and day sleeps in a crib." said Ashley. Geoff and Linda blew out the candle light in Ashley's room, closed the door, and walked away into their rooms.
Linda and Geoff changed into their night wear and laid down in bed. "Geoff what if we never find out why the skull is doing this?" said Linda. By the tone of her voice, it was very noticeable that she was worried. "Linda it's not a permanent curse. Once she meets the one it will be over. Plus by the rate an increase of her growth, she will find him by next year." said Geoff. they both sighed.
"Goodnight dear." Said Linda. "Goodnight. I love you Linda. Good bye." Linda sat up and looked at Geoff. Geoff looked at her confused. "Why good bye? I'll see you tomorrow morning, won't I?" said Linda worried. Geoff just brushed it off and fell asleep. Linda did the same. Soon enough, everybody even Ashley was asleep.
In the middle of the night, Ashley's room lit up with a red with tints of purple dust flew and lit up the air. Geoff's eyes peaked open and saw the light down the hall. Once the light was gone, Geoff got on his slippers and walked down to Ashley's room. Once he opened the door, he was left in total shock. Geoff walked down the hall back into his room. "Linda?" Linda got up. "Linda, we have a problem."
