Some day, I wanna tell everybody, some days
I wanna hit the red dot, I'll never find
Some days, some
Smoking' marijuana
Now I'm living' high doing what I wanna
somedayBopping her head to the intense beat of the song, she felt free. As she closed her eyes and let her body feel the music, allowed her body to sway in any direction as the crowd got more and more hype around her, she felt as though she was floating away. Like she was in her own headspace, her own world, a place where no one could disturb her peace. No worries, no stress, just her and her thoughts. As she began to mumble the lyrics, she felt an arm wrap around her and then she was pulled into his familiar embrace, his warmth seeping through the back of the Sunday Service sweatshirt that she had found at the bottom of her closet earlier in the afternoon. Then both of his arms were around her and she was completely trapped in his embrace as he swayed them back and forth, pressing his lips to her temple before leaning down so that he could sing the words to her.
I've been trying
To make you love me
But everything I try
Just takes you further from meAnd then they were in their own little world. Free from judgement. Free from the prying fans. Free from the invasive paparazzi. In a sea of 20,000 people, they still somehow managed to disappear into their own little bubble, their own little safety net where nothing else mattered. For those four minutes and thirty one seconds as Kanye and PND moved around the stage rapping their respective parts, they felt all of their worries and tension and stress roll off of their shoulders. Nothing else mattered. It was just the two of them.
Yeah, and nothing hurts anymore, I feel kinda free
We're still the kids we used to be, yeah, yeah
I put my hand on a stove, to see if I still bleed
Yeah, and nothing hurts anymore, I feel kinda freeBut then those four minutes and thirty one seconds were over. The artists disappeared and the lights in the stadium were turned back on. The crowd of 20,000 people began to disperse, groaning in anticipation of the awful traffic that would await them as they tried to leave the venue. The lights were on. Everyone could see them. So his arms dropped from her shoulders. They moved away from each other. They pulled their phones out and pretended as though they didn't know each other, that it was just a happy coincidence that they happened to be at the same concert in the same seats wearing the same exact thing. Hollywood was pretty small, to be honest.
Then his phone rang. She didn't even have to look to see who it was because he got that look on his face. His nose scrunched up and she heard him release an annoyed huff. And he let it ring, ignoring his phone and instead choosing to look at her as the world moved around them, yet they were completely still, frozen in time...frozen in their moment.
"Demi! Oh my gosh, I didn't even see you down here!" Kim Kardashian West exclaimed as she broke free from a barrier of bodyguards. "And Jesse! Wow, Kanye will be so happy to know so many people came to see him tonight!"
Kim looked between the two of them like she knew that something was going on, but if she thought that, she didn't say anything that would allude to it.
"You should come out with us! We're going to grab a bite to eat and then there's an after party!" She suggested, more so speaking to Demi since they actually knew each other previously.
Demi barely caught the end of her sentence because his phone started to ring again. This time it couldn't be ignored. So she turned away from him, facing the reality television star who was decked out in head to toe Yeezy.
"I would love to! Let me just tell my bodyguard. Is it okay if I ride with you?" Demi questioned, letting Kim take her arm and drag her into the circle of security personnel so that they could talk carpools and clubs.
She glanced over her shoulder as they walked away, and saw him on the phone. He always knew when she was staring, so it was no surprise when he lifted his head to look at her, his gaze burning into the depths of her soul. But she turned away. She let Kim Kardashian West whisk her away to their private exit, while he stayed behind to assure his wife that he was on his way home.
