You should be with me in the shade
With the breeze blowin' free
Life is easy for right nowWhile Miami during Super Bowl weekend was probably a nightmare for everyone else, it was absolutely a dream for Demi. First of all, the city was filled with celebrities. Some of the most famous people in the world staying in the most expensive hotels in the world while attending parties, pre games, and promotional events. There were so many celebrities that the paparazzi couldn't even keep up with them all, which meant that they would be too busy chasing after the stars they could rarely spot instead of chasing after her, making it the perfect weekend for a secret getaway for her and Jesse. Before their big fight during Grammy weekend, they had already made the plans for their little Miami getaway. Using her private jet, they would fly to Miami a few days before her team arrived so that they could have an adequate amount of time together. Plus, paparazzi weren't expecting anyone important to get there until Friday so they had at least two days for themselves. As for his wife, Jesse had told her months ago that he planned to attend the game with a few of his friends...which he was. But he was mainly going to be with her. For the time being, Demi could pretend that his wife wasn't apart of the equation and they were free to be together. Until Friday when all eyes would be watching out for them...
"Doesn't this make you want to disappear to an island in the middle of nowhere?" Demi breathed out, looking over at him as he flipped through another page in his book.
They had started the day completely trapped in their room together, only coming up for air to order room service and brush their teeth, but Demi had mentioned something about wanting to lay out by the rooftop pool and tan, so they had come upstairs for the time being.
"No...is it supposed to?" Jesse replied without even looking up from his book.
"Yes, so that we can be together...uninterrupted...no worries, no distractions...just the two of us," Demi fantasized, because that was literally her dream in life.
She didn't care about her career that much anymore. Let's rephrase...she cared but she didn't care as much as she used to. She had all of the success in the world. All she wanted was to be happy and to settle down and she wanted to do all of that stuff with Jesse but...Demi stopped herself. His wife wasn't supposed to exist in their perfect little Miami bubble.
"I don't want to disappear to an island. I want to be with you anywhere, anytime. We shouldn't have to disappear to do that," Jesse finished his thought, setting his book down on the table.
It was called "America's Original Sin" and he had been reading it for a few days now. He was always reading educational books and if he thought they were good, he would pass them onto her. He never read for fun and now, she really didn't either. But she liked reading the books he suggested and being able to talk to him about them. She had never really been able to do that with anyone before.
"We wouldn't have to if it were up to me. But it's not," Demi muttered.
She wanted him to hear her, but then again, she really didn't. They had just finished fighting. They were on borrowed time and they really didn't have time to keep arguing with each other.
Jesse heard her but chose not to reply. Instead he reached across the small space in between them to grab her hand, lightly tugging on her arm so that she would get the message. He just knew she was rolling her eyes behind those Versace sunglasses. She stood up from her lounge chair, adjusting her cheetah print bikini before she straddled his waist, flipping her hair off of her shoulders before looking down at him.
"Let's go out to dinner tonight," Jesse suggested, causing a deep furrow to set in the middle of Demi's eyebrows.
"Out?"
