When Maleficent and Diaval got outside Sir Jordan was hugging his daughter who was crying her eyes out.
"What happened here?" Maleficent asked. Sir Jordan stood up and pulled Maleficent and Diaval over to the side.
"Spark wanted to show me around the Moors today and I told her it was a bad idea. She asked why I didn't want to go and I finally had to tell her the truth." Sir Jordan said.
"What exactly was that?" Diaval asked.
"Her mother doesn't want to see us. Her mother is ashamed to claim Spark as her own and she definitely doesn't want to claim me. If we go to the Moors we might run into her and Spark would finally see it for herself. I couldn't do that to her. I've always known that Rain was consumed by pride. Even when we were dating she didn't want anyone to know. I always thought that it was to keep us safe, but when Queen Aurora and yourself brought peace across the land and she still never turned up I finally knew the truth. Spark however never really believed her mother didn't want her, she believes that her mother just doesn't know where she is or that her mother is still afraid. I would hate for her to be crushed like that when she sees the look on her mother's face if we were to run into her." Sir Jordan said.
Maleficent glanced back over at Spark who was still crying.
"Who in their right mind wouldn't claim the poor thing?" Maleficent asked.
"Rain wouldn't." Sir Jordan said, pinching the bridge of his nose. "She seems really disappointed and I don't know what to do." Jordan said. Maleficent looked over at Spark who was looking over at the Moors trying to suck up her tears. Her hair was frizzing and she had lavender sparks on her fingertips. Spark looked deep in thought, she must have been having a vision.
"We go to the Moors." Maleficent said. Jordan looked up at her, confused.
"After what I just told her? Listen that is a heck of an idea but I'm pretty sure that's the last place she would want to go." Jordan said.
"Or the first, seeing is believing Sir Jordan." Maleficent said as she strutted past him and picked Spark up, she began walking toward the bridge. Jordan raised an eyebrow at Diaval. Diaval looked at Maleficent and scoffed, then he looked at Jordan and smiled. They both began to follow her.
When they got over to the Moors Maleficent put Spark down, Spark looked up at her with her eyes wide and an emotionless look on her face.
"Where would you like to go first?" Maleficent asked. Spark began to look off toward the middle of the Moors. Then she decided to give her father an official tour first. The tour took up most of the day, the sun began to set. There was a small celebration taking place in the center of the Moors and when Spark looked up and saw the sun setting she grumbled. Spark walked everyone over to the large crowd of fairies dancing and laughing, a small mud fight had broken out on the far right. Spark worked her way to the middle of the crowd and stood straight ahead from a small tan fairy. She had lavender eyes and a huge smile on her face, freckles dotted across her nose. Her hair was jet black and put up in a bun, she had lavender and white paint on her face. It was Rain, Spark's mother. When she opened her eyes to see Spark standing across from her and Jordan right behind she gasped. She began to fly off, but Spark had other plans. The crowd started to part so that the small fairy could get through, but Spark blew some wind toward Rain and a small lavender bolt hit her to the ground.
Spark had hit her wings, she couldn't fly, she spun into the air and a big Lavender spark circled her. She was now the size of a human, she began to run. Maleficent flicked her wrist and Rain fell. Everyone knew she must have done something if Maleficent wanted her, so the people who began to let her go past began to block her in again. Rain turned over to face the group of people glaring down at her.
"...Hi." she said trying to play off her recent stunt. Spark raised an eyebrow at her. Her hair began to frizz and her fingertips began to buzz. Rain looked down at Spark's fingertips and then saw her eyes begin to glow lavender. She then saw a white light, she looked at Spark, her aura was  orange (alert/ skeptical) and lavender (hopeful). The white light went away. Rain smiled sinisterly. "Oh! Spark is that you. Hi there darling." She said standing up and walking over to Spark. She bent down and hugged her. Jordan looked at Maleficent and Diaval who were watching in amazement as Rain hugged Spark. Maleficent whispered to Jordan.
"I thought you said she didn't want her?" Diaval asked.
"I thought she didn't, that's what she led me to believe." Jordan said. Spark hugged her mom back and a smile spread across her face.
"Here Spark, I would like to give you something." Rain said. Spark began to get a bad feeling, but she wanted to bond with her mother even more.
"Ok." Spark said with such excitement. Rain grabbed a glowing lilac flower, she put it in Spark's hair. Spark cheered. Maleficent and Diaval looked over at Jordan who was turley confused.
"She looks, perfectly fine Jordan." Diaval said. Maleficent agreed, then they began to walk off. Jordan stood in disbelief at Rain and Spark. Then he began to pay more attention, Rain was snarling at Spark behind her back.
When Maleficent and Diaval got home Maleficent was nervous and yet happy. She was going to try to flirt with Diaval again. When they got in the house Maleficent went straight upstairs and Diaval sat at the kitchen table once again gazing outside. Maleficent strutted downstairs wearing a black silk dress. Diaval hadn't noticed.
"Diaval?" Maleficent called. Diaval turned around.
"Yes Mistress?" He answered. When he turned around he saw Maleficent in a black silk dress with her arms open and she spun around. His eyes grew wide.
"I got the sap stain out." Maleficent said. Diaval nodded.
"Good for you Mistress." Then he looked back out the window. Maleficent's scowled and she rolled her eyes.
"Tell me Diaval, what do you want to do tonight?" She asked, sitting across from Diaval. He looked at her and laid his hand on hers, she wanted to smile, but instead she had wide eyes, and her head tilted up, and a straight look on her face.
"Actually Mistress, that's what I was trying to tell you earlier. I would like to be a raven again. I mean don't get me wrong I would love to stay here and talk to you but I've been in this form too long. I want to be outside flying across the Moors and Ulstead." Diaval said, smiling as he looked out the window. Maleficent nodded.
"Why of course Diaval, I understand." Maleficent said. She squinted her eyes and nodded, then she flicked her wrist and Diaval was a raven. He landed on the table, bowed then flew out the window. Maleficent would have enjoyed flying around with Diaval, but she figured that that was his way of asking for space. She didn't know when he was going to come back so she went upstairs to her room and looked out the window, it had been about an hour that she was looking out the window. She began to think to herself. "What on Earth are you doing?! Why are you trying to get Diaval's attention? Just because you found out he loves you? That is no excuse to act like a desperate, begging dog. But what about everything Spark and Aurora said, it would be nice to try my hand at love again. ARE YOU CRAZY! Diaval is a nice man er raven but he is no different than every other man. Why can't you deal with the fact that there is no such thing as happily ever after for you." She thought, she began to block out her feelings of love again. Then she heard a raven caw and she felt it again.
She turned around and saw that Diaval had landed on her bed and was cawing like crazy. She flicked her wrist.
"Diaval you're back early." She said, without noticing herself smiling, trying to pretend that she wasn't waiting up for him. Diaval was panting.
"I think there is something wrong with Spark." Diaval said. Maleficent's eyes grew wide, then she and Diaval flew to the area with the river that flowed under the cliff. They landed and Spark looked deep in thought and her eyes were puffy and red. Her hair was completely frizzed.
"What are you doing here this late Hybrid?" Maleficent asked. Spark perked up and looked at Maleficent.
"Oh! Great you're here, stand still." Spark said. She closed her eyes and took a breath and opened her eyes. She saw a white light, then she looked at Maleficent, Maleficent stood there with her eyes wide and she looked worried. Then the white light went away. Spark let out a loud groan.
"Spark what on Earth has gotten into you?" Maleficent asked.
"I can't see your aura, I can't see anyone's aura and my visions are blurred. I don't know what's gotten into me. I feel off, and my feelings are scrambled. For example, I normally can feel when someone is up to something, like if someone had an ill will, but earlier I didn't know that my daddy was going to storm out on me and my mom." Spark said.
"What do you mean storm out?" Diaval asked.
"We were still at the party and my dad kept calling my mom names, he kept calling her a fake, and a liar. I of all people would have been able to prove it, but I wasn't getting any visions. She started to get upset and started to get offended. I told my dad that she was just trying to make up for the time that she wasn't around, he looked at me, turned around and left. My mom said everything would be ok, and I haven't had a vision since." Spark said then she put her head in her hands.
"Well why can't you have visions?" Diaval asked. Spark slowly glared up at him.
"I don't know because if I knew why I couldn't have a vision I would FIX IT!" Spark began to shout, and her fingertips began to buzz with lavender sparks.
"Calm down Hybrid." Maleficent said sternly. Spark began to cry again, she began to pace back and forth.
"Well where is your mother she could help right?" Diaval asked. Spark shook her head.
"After daddy stormed off mommy said that she was going to talk to him, I haven't seen her since." Spark said. Maleficent began to think. Diaval looked at her with curiosity.
On the other side of the Moors, the part closest to the bridge. Jordan confronted Rain.
"You and I both know that you don't want Spark, I don't know what game you're trying to play but I don't like it." Jordan said.
"Listen, can't I just spend time with my daughter?" Rain said as she pouted.
"Cut the crap Rain! I know you, what do you want?" Jordan began to shout.
"My daughter is half human, of course I don't want her, she could ruin everything the Moorfolk stand for, even though we are at peace with you humans we still don't like you." Rain said looking Jordan up and down with a scowl. "When I realized how powerful she was though...and she's friends with the most powerful fairy in the world, imagine how much attention I could get if everyone knew that the most powerful fairy in the world knew my powerful daughter. Then imagine if I could get her the proper training she could unlock even more power, then I could turn her against Maleficent and if Spark defeats her, she will be the most powerful fairy in the world, then everyone will know my name" Rain said.
"You mean everyone will know Spark's name?" Jordan asked.
"No, I'm her mother, I will be known as the fairy who birthed the most powerful fairy in the world." Rain exclaimed. "It will be...well magical." Rain said, then she sinisterly laughed.
"You won't get away with this, if you haven't noticed Spark can sense this sort of thing about people." Jordan said.
"Oh I know which is why I'm keeping her powers on lock down until I need them." Rain said.
"What do you mean?" Jordan said. Rain scoffed.
"I already said too much." She said. She blinked and then she saw a white light, she shot a small lavender bolt at Jordan's head with her eye. He fell into a daze. "Go back to the castle, leave Spark, and the horned beast alone, don't go near them and don't tell them anything." Rain said. The white light went away and Jordan obeyed everything she said. She laughed sinisterly again.
Back under the cliff Spark saw another white light, but it was as if her mind rejected it. She began to get upset, she looked at Maleficent.
"WHY CAN'T I HAVE A VISION?" Spark cried. Maleficent picked her up and held her until she calmed down. Then Rain walked over. She took Spark out of Maleficent's arms, Maleficent felt kind of nervous when Rain took her, she didn't want her to hurt Spark or disturb her. Rain glared at Maleficent.
"Hey Spark, you'll be staying with me from now on." Rain said, forcing a smile. Spark cheered and laid her head on her mother's shoulder. Rain smiled at Diaval and winked. He blushed and held his head down a bit, then he looked up at Maleficent who had an eyebrow raised and a stern look on her face. Then Rain shot Maleficent one last nasty look before walking away. Maleficent's eyes glowed green and she stood up, her staff rushed into her hand, she didn't know if she was mad about the nasty look or because she winked at Diaval, but Rain was now on her list. Diaval had to calm her down once again. The two walked home.
"I don't trust her Diaval." Maleficent said as she sat at the kitchen table. Diaval handed her a cup of tea.
"Mistress, I think she's safe with her mom." Diaval said as he sat across from her. Maleficent took a sip of her tea, then looked at Diaval.
"Diaval you are so naive, we have been through way too much for you to not find that woman suspicious." Maleficent said.
"Is this because she winked at me Mistress?" Diaval asked. Maleficent's eyes grew wide and she looked at Diaval.
"Diaval, you disease written bird!? What are you implying?" She asked.
"Maybe you're envious of her Mistress." Diaval said.
"Envious!? Of her? Come on Diaval get your head on straight. I know where your loyalties lie." Maleficent said as she took another sip of tea.
"It's ok to be jealous, Mistress." Diaval said as he laid his hand on hers.
"Oh please Diaval why should I be jealous of her just because she is a few years younger and she has beautiful eyes and-" Maleficent stopped talking and looked up at Diaval who had an eyebrow raised. "Oh God, Diaval we are fighting like we're married, I'm not jealous of Rain and I have no reason to be because we aren't courting and I do hope you know that." Maleficent said as she finished her tea.
"Good because maybe I'll court with her." Diaval said jokingly.
"Be my guest, she is pretty." Maleficent said as she got up.
"Yes very, with her lavender eyes, and beautiful long hair," Diaval started and Maleficent agreed even though on the inside she was truly concerned. "Not to mention she's a decade younger than you." Diaval said jokingly. Maleficent swung around with her eyes wide. She slowly strutted over to Diaval as he laughed his heart out. He began to get nervous. She bent down so they were at eye level and she used her index finger to raise his face to hers. She squinted her eyes and she looked very stern. "Too far?" Diaval asked. She slowly nodded at him, then flicked her wrist, Diaval became a dog. She began to walk upstairs and Diaval wouldn't stop barking. Maleficent turned her head to Diaval with a wide smile.
"Too far?" She asked with a pretend pout, then she bursted out laughing, and made her way upstairs. Diaval growled at her.
Maleficent woke up the next day with Diaval pinning her down and growling at her. She threw him off of her.
"Don't test your luck dog breath." Maleficent said with a scowl. Diaval began to pout. She began to walk over to her walk in closet all her clothes were on the right and the outfits she made for Diaval were on the left. She began searching all over her side of the closet and Diaval followed close behind, she ignored him. She went through all of her dresses trying to find the right one. She grabbed two. One dress had black and brown fur that started on the collar and went all the way down, then there was some fur by the wrists, the dress was all black and was designed like a long robe. The second dress was goldish brown and was airy and kind of silky, it dodn't really have to much on it and the collar stuck out and it was studded, she looked at both dresses then turned to Diaval.
"Which one?" She asked. Diaval barked at her, then sat with his back turned to her. She rolled her eyes and changed him back into a human. He stood up and faced her with a very stern look on his face.
"Out of all things…all because of a little joke and you-." Diaval started, Maleficent cut him off, with her laughter.
"Little joke, yeah ok." Maleficent said. "Diaval, I just turned you into what you were acting like." Maleficent said as she kept studying the two dresses she picked.
"Mistress, you should know that I would never think of you that way. If anything she should be jealous of you, I was just trying to tease you and I apologize, I did get out of line. You have almost everything that she wishes she had and so much more." Diaval said as he walked over to Maleficent. He then wrapped his arms around her waist and smiled down at her. "Do you forgive me?" Diaval asked. She looked up at him with a shocked look, still holding the two dresses, both of their breathing began to deepen.
"I guess I could look past it." She said, she still had a shocked look on her face as she looked up at him then she looked at his arms around her waist, she looked back at his face and she stared at his lips and began to feel anxious, Diaval smiled down at her, almost forgetting how Maleficent felt about situations such as this one. His face slowly began to get closer to hers. Then Diaval finally realized what he was doing and stopped with his faces two inches away from hers, Maleficent took a breath and held up the dresses that she was still holding.
"Diaval?" Maleficent asked as she was trying to breathe normally again. She couldn't help but keep looking at his mouth.
          "Yes Mistress?" He asked.
"Which dress looks better?" She asked as she began leaning away from Diaval.
"All of them." Diaval said, he finally snapped back to reality and he let go of her and she frantically looked through her closet, and Diaval stood with both arms behind his back at the doorway. "If I may speak freely, Mistress?" Diaval said. she looked over at him, with her eyes squinted.
             "Carry on." She said.
"Your gold dress would look great." Diaval said. He bowed and began to leave. Maleficent smiled and held up her gold dress.
When she came downstairs she had her gold dress on and she strutted past Diaval in hopes that he noticed. She was even wearing her hair down. Diaval was staring at her, he began to think to himself.
"She is trying to get my attention, you've loved her for years and now she's trying to get your attention. FINALLY! Take the opportunity. Wait! What if she is just teasing you again like at spin the bottle, you should let her make the first move. It would be rude not to speak though." he honestly couldn't let it go unsaid.
"You look radiant, Mistress." Diaval said. Maleficent thought to herself.
"He is such a gentleman. Maleficent get yourself together and keep your composure. You know what? No Stefan is gone and Diaval is a great man, I won't let you waste this opportunity." She thought.
"Diaval I...think we should-" she started then someone knocked on the door.
             "UGHHH! REALLY!" Maleficent thought.
