~ Rachel's Perspective ~

Rachel was currently sitting on a bench in her favorite park trying to reorganize her songbook. She finished with a huff before looking at Azar. "Stupid boy, right Azar?", Rachel spoke to her dog. Azar responded with a small bark. "At least it wasn't a total loss", Rachel said out loud.

The peace and quiet Rachel had was soon short-lived when a little girl and her mom found her. "It's her, it's her", The girl cheered. "It's Raven." The girl ran over to Rachel. "Can I get a picture with you?", The girl asked the ravenette. Rachel nodded her head and then took the picture.

~ Garfield's Perspective ~

Garfield made his way towards Arnold's Pawn Shop. As soon as he entered the doors, he was met face to face with his mom's old piano. Memories of him and his mom washed through his head as he made his way to sit on the oak piano bench that sat in front of the grand piano.

Garfield sat his backpack and his leather jacket on the ground, before gingerly running his fingers across the keys of the piano. "No touching the merchandise", A voice rang through the air. Garfield looked up and was met with the owner of this very pawnshop, Arnold.

"Are you here to make another payment?", Arnold asked the male. Gar shook his head yes and headed to the cash register. Gar dug in his pockets and pulled out the money he made from playing on the streets the other day. "9.57?", Arnold asked as if to say, 'Are you joking'. Garfield nodded his head yes.

"At this rate, your mom's piano will be yours...", Arnold began to say as he did the calculations. "In 2029", He finished his statement. Gar pouted before walking back over to his mom's piano. The male decided to play one of his favorite songs on the piano.

After finishing the song, Gar grabbed his things. "Bye Arnie", Gar said as he walked out the door. "See you later Garfield", Arnold said as the back of Gar disappeared through the door.

~ Third Person's Perspective ~
The Next Day

Today was Garfield's first day as a janitor at Royalty Records. Dressed in an all-blue cleaning suit, Gar pushed his janitor station through the halls of this big office building. Garfield stopped in front of Trigon's office, so he could go in and clean. Bringing along his rag and his duster, Gar entered the room.
Garfield dusted off the trophies placed gingerly around the office room. The male picked up a gold award and started to mess around. "So many thank yous, my agents, my managers, and of course none of this would be possible without my trusty rag.", Gar said out loud to no one.

Garfield pulled his rag out and began to clean the trophy before almost dropping it and breaking it. The male released a breath he didn't know he was holding. Gar put the trophy back down and walked away from it.

Gar soon came across a picture of Rachel and her dad. 'Wow', he thought to himself as he looked at the girl's genuine smile. His admiration was interrupted by none other than Rachel and her best friends. Garfield quickly hid the picture behind his back.

"Hey!", Gar said panic evident in his voice. Rachel made her way over to Garfield. "What are you doing here?", Rachel interrogated the poor boy. "I didn't mean to startle you, I work here", Gar stumbled over his words, as he reached for his badge to show them.

"That could be fake", Bee suggested to Rachel. "I mean people do get fake IDs", Jinx said in agreement with Bee. Garfield took his badge off and handed it to Jinx. "If I were gonna get a fake ID, would I really use this picture?", Gar said, raising an eyebrow with his statement

Jinx checked over the ID before handing it to Rachel, so she could give it to Garfield "Yeah, his story does check out", Jinx said out loud to her friends. Rachel looked at the badge so she could get Garfield's name. "What do you have behind your back, Garfield?", Rachel asked the male. "N-nothing", He stuttered as a reply.

Rachel gave him a 'Nice Try' look. "You're not a very good liar, Garfield", Rachel spoke, tossing the badge towards Garfield. Gar quickly caught the badge, while still keeping the picture hidden behind him. "I am too a good liar", Gar said with a raise of pitch in his voice. "I am a very good liar, I've lied successfully on many occasions. In fact, just yesterday..." Gar tried to convince the girl, but it was clear she wasn't having it.

"You're right. I'm not a very good liar. I lied.", Gar came clean. "See? You are a liar", Rachel said matter-of-factly as she tried to reach for what Gar was hiding. However, Gar was able to avoid her.

At that moment, Jason busted into the room. "Raven, my darling, my love. It's me your prince, you're late for the..", Jason yelled but came to a stop when he noticed Garfield in the room. "Who's this guy?", Jason asked Rachel, Bee, and Jinx. "Garfield", Gar said with a smile and an outstretched hand.

Jason made no advances to initiate a handshake so Garfield scratched the back of his neck from the awkwardness. "Are you signed to the Majesty Records as well?", Jason asked Garfield. "I'm the janitor.", Garfield answered.

"That's a bit of a lame stage name, mate. I'd go with something else. I don't know, the Janitor? It might work. What, are you like a rapper or something?", Jason asked Gar. "No, I'm just the actual janitor", Garfield answered his question well again. With this newfound information, Jason decided to just ignore Garfield.

Clear that Gar was no longer going to be acknowledged in the room, he put down the picture and snuck out the room. "It's time for us to announce the public launch of Raven's fragrance! I told the driver to wait, let's go", Jason told Rachel before giving the girl a cheek kiss and walking out the room.

Rachel noticed that Garfield was hiding a picture of her and her dad behind his back. She had given the picture a faint smile before being drawn back to life by her friends calling her name. "My bad. I guess it's time for me to go to this launch party with my 'boyfriend'", Rachel said, putting quotations around boyfriend.

"He's Jason. Most girls would kill to be set up with him", Jinx told Rachel. "I know, I know", Rachel responded. "You should be 'happy'", Jinx said to Rachel, putting quotations around happy. "'And I am'", Rachel answered the girl. "Now how's this for an 'I'm so happy, that I'm in a relationship that my dad thinks will sell records'?", Rachel asked and then showed off her fake smile. Jinx and Bee gave the girl a thumbs up and the trio left Rachel's dad's office.

Outside the room, Garfield was cleaning off a portrait and Jason was waiting for the girls. "Ay, if you're gonna be late, call. You know how it work", Gar said jokingly causing Rachel to giggle at his goofiness, before walking off with Jason. "He has got to be the youngest janitor ever, am I right?", Jason said out loud to the group causing Jinx and Bee to laugh.
