~ Flash Back ~
Garfield Logan is the son of Marie and Mark Logan. They lived in a comfortable home out near the countryside, up until the year Gar's dad passed away. Marie decided to follow her dream of opening a diner where people could come to eat and share their music with others. So that's what Gar and his mom moved to Gotham to do. The two together, with help from Marie's childhood friend Kory and her husband, opened up The Palace Diner.
Marie loved music and wanted to make sure that Gar knew how to play it, and that music had the power to influence others. Marie taught Gar how to play piano and ukulele, and the two would sometimes perform as a duo for the customers of their little diner.
When Gar turned 11, Marie remarried to Robert Cain. Robert had two sons named Malachi and Chase, who always messed with Garfield. Gar, however, didn't let the fact that his family was getting bigger than just him, his mom, and his "auntie and uncle", upset him. The male still helped his mom out with the diner and he was happy and content with his life. However, the good didn't last. Marie had got cancer and died from it.
After Marie died, things for Gar changed really quickly. Robert kept him, more than willing to accept the payment for caring for Gar as his legal guardian. To feel like he always had a piece of his mom with him, Gar continued to write music. Gar also managed The Palace Diner with his Auntie Kory and Uncle Dick, the only people who seemed to truly care about him.
Hopefully, one day, this kind boy will be able to live out his dream.
