Buttercup's POV

"Buttercup, where are you going?!" Blossom runs after me, stumbling down the staircase and stopping at the bottom as I throw my leather jacket over my shoulders and slip my arms inside.

"None of your business."

"You're going to see Ace again, aren't you?" Bubbles' timid voice asks, cracking before she could even finish. I look at her and laugh at her messy blonde pigtails and glass-like tears.

"Don't be so pathetic, Blondie. I'm amused, but keep it up for too long and I'll get annoyed. Doesn't take a lot when it comes to you."

"Who are you?" Blossom speaks up. "Who have you become?"

I glare at her. How could she ask me such a stupid question!

"I'm me. Who else would I be, Bloss? I've always been me. I suggest you get used to it, though I may not be here long enough for you to get to know."

"You aren't our sister anymore. And if you're leaving us to see that asshole, we don't want you back. Ever," she emphasizes. I roll my eyes and put my short hair in a spiky ponytail, slipping into my studded combat boots.

"Wasn't planning on it," I state simply. I reach for the door handle and look back at the two of them, begging me to stay with the look in their eyes. "I just can't believe I was cursed with such disappointing mistakes for sisters." I wink and run out of the house, cell phone in hand, and fly off in the black, star-lit sky. The wind blowing through my hair, the moon illuminating a wide beam in front of me, and my sorry excuse of a home in my past for good.

I had to hurry the hell outta there anyway, Ace was waiting for me.

...At a concert hall outside New Townsville...

"BC, finally!"

I hover over him for a while before softly falling into his hold.

"Hey Ace, what's hanging?"

"We're jus' gettin' ready for our first set."

"I didn't know you guys were playing tonight. Actually, I didn't even know any of you COULD play. At all."

"And I didn't know you could sing, BC. Why don't you help a boy out?" I shove myself out of his arms and give him a dumbfounded look, my arms strongly crossed around my chest.

"You can't be serious. If you're serious then I'm an average teenage girl with zero superhuman powers." He chuckles and hides his hands deep in his ripped jeans pockets.

"I'm dead serious, babe. Why not? All we ever do is play or sing screamo. It'd be nice to have a genuine voice up on stage with us."

"We shall see."

"Well until then..." he begins, digging in his pocket and taking out a small baggie of white powder.

"Impressive Ace, but I totally got you beat." I reach in my back pocket and slap a big bag of various pills, smirking.

"Where did you get so many?!"

"Keep it down!" I hiss, dragging him behind the stage drappings. "Stealing is way easier than it looks."
