"Liam." She whispered. Her eyes glazed over. Howling pain shot through my heart. Dropping to my knees, tears slid down my face and fell into her hair. Flaming red hair spilled across my chest and over my arm. Her blue eyes, forever staring, were no longer the briliant blue they used to be. Dead. She left me. Dead. She's dead. Never coming back. I'll never hear her laugh again. Never will she calm me down when I'm mad. Never will we marry. Nor will she have my children. Never. Her last breath spent.
"Why!" I screamed to the sky. "You evil son of a bitch!" My body shook violently. Coldness invaded my heart with the knowledge with her passing. No, she didn't pass. She was brutally ripped from this world. Ripped from me in such a startling ugly way.
"Liam wake up." A voice called. I stared down at the limp body in my arms. Do I dare to believe she is alive? "Liam. Wake up. Now!" The voice called again. "You'll be late for school." My eyes shot open to reveal a petite woman with wide eyes shaking me gently.
"Mom, am I dead?" I asked, a hollow feeling sinking into my chest.
"Honey, you are very alive." She looked at me worriedly. a swelling feeling of relief. A swooping sigh left my lips. I gave my mom a small smile.
"Sorry mom, very bad night." Ha that didn't even cover it. She nodded and left shutting my door swiftly. I stood up and headed to the shower. The hot water tumbling down my back and shoulders loosened up my tense muscles. Why that dream? Why did I have to watch Kida die in my arms? Scrubbing shampoo in my hair I pondered my questions.
"Where are you? Class is about to start." Tanner asked through the phone pressed against my ear.
"Woke up late. Tell coach I'll be late but I've got him donuts so please don't count me late." I said a smile lighting up my face. Coach is a sucker for donuts.
"Will do, captain. Bye."
"Bye, man." I flicked my phone on to the seat next to me.
I pulled up to the school two minutes later. Grabbed the donuts, car keys, and my gear and walked out to the field. Coach glanced up and held his hand out expectantly. "Hey Coach Tucker. Got you a couple of glazed and sprinkles." I said tossing the bag. He caught it a smile creeping on his face.
"Get out there, Tyler. No more being late or I won't be so lenient." He scolded a smile threatening to break out as he ate a big glazed donut. I saluted him and ran off after my team. I joined in the stretches Josh was leading us in.
"Hey, man. Late again?" Aaron called, snidely.
"Yeah. Your girl kept me up last night." I shot back. There was a low 'ooh' from the guys still stretching.
"Hah oh you were the one she was complaining about? She said you weren't much to call home about." He said. There was another 'ooh' coming from the guys again. I laughed, this was our usual game. No one meant what they said but it was funny to joke like this. This is why men are Superior to girls. We don't go and get butt hurt over everything we said to each other.
"Enough chit chat! come on Captain lead your squad." Coach Tucker yelled.
"Yes, sir." I lead the team in some drills with the ball.
"Hotties in the stands." Conner called. And sure enough cheerleaders stood in a group in the stands watching us. Sure enough there was Jessica Howling in the middle of it all. Her barely there surprisingly in jeans and a long sleeved shirt. Oliver groaned quietly.
"What's wrong "Olly"?" I asked a grin popping out.
"She's gonna single me out." He mumbled.
"Hey guys bell just rang. School time." Coach said. We all nodded and trudged off the field with our luggage. I walked with Josh and Conner. And sure enough the cheerleaders sauntered over.
"Hey Liam." Jessica simpered,"How are you?"
"I'm good. Hey guess what?" I said an evil grin spreading across my face.
"What?"
"I heard Oliver is wanting to chat this morning." Her face lit up and she sauntered off. Josh, Conner and I continued to school.
"LIAM!!!" Oliver screamed. I took off running. Today was gonna be great.
