June 1892. Tokyo, Japan.
A day after Aya's departure to London, Tsuki wrote letters to the Steinfeld family regarding his daughter's condition and events in House of Peers. He notified the family about Saichi not going to Britain as the tension grew. He knew the timeline of Aya's journey, thus he took advantage of it to determine the timing of sending letters.
His daughter as a diplomat surprised him, but he would try his best to give her sufficient knowledge through his journals.
Inside the residence, Tsuki was making letters for the House of Peers when he heard a knock from his servant.
"Come in," Tsuki replied.
The servant opened the door and he bowed down to his master. "Yamaguchi-sama, his Majesty is in front of the doorsteps. He requested to go inside."
Wait why is the Emperor, Tsuki sighed and he went to the living room, where his wife already invited the visitor.
"Tsuki. I am not informed that the Emperor is around," Yui commented, "I already let him visit the room."
Tsuki eyed at the serious-faced Emperor who stared at him on his seat. Tsuki sat down on the mat floor and he asked him, "what brings you here, your majesty?"
"I have so many questions in mind, especially about your daughter."
Tsuki's face turned sour. "What is it? Did she do something?"
"I believe so. Are you aware of her activities?" The emperor asked.
"Yes. She is studying in an all-girls school for modesty—"
"She went to London, my darling," Hana admitted, "I believe she will have good men during her educational years."
Tsuki glared at her, "so she's following my diplomacy?"
"Of course. She wanted to be like you. She read a lot of books with Tanaka-sensei. She learned subjects that were supposedly taught to men—"
"That's why I'm here," the Emperor interrupted, "I am happy that she is studying, but do you know that she had someone to marry?"
"Who?" Tsuki asked, "I didn't know that."
"The Imperial Prince wanted to marry her, but she used the diplomacy to escape," the Emperor answered, "it seemed your daughter is such a hideous child that all she wants is to break the rules of the Imperial government."
"That's surprising, your Highness. She will never do that! Although she is truly a smart child in her school, I am shocked that she also learned what she must not learn—"
"I'm sorry. My son had to marry with his own will, but if he didn't get what he wanted, I will do anything to bring it back," the Emperor spoke in a serious tone, "my Imperial guards are already around to assist for your leaving."
Tsuki eventually stood up. "So that's why you are here—to take away my land! I contribute a lot to the imperial family. You must not make it away!"
"Your Highness, please" Hana pleaded, "you can use that power to our daughter but not us. My darling worked hard for you in decades and you must not strip that."
The Emperor sighed. "Enough with the begging. As an Emperor, I have the power to punish someone who doesn't do their duties, including ensuring that their daughters remained modest."
Tsuki gasped. "How dare you... ah! Curse my daughter for this! Tell that to Ms. Tanaka for conditioning her to leave. She is your consultant, right? You evict her, not us!"
