A bright ray of the sun caught my eye. It wasn't a dream. I woke up in my luxurious room yawning and checking the time on my phone. '11:45 am'. Damn. Well, not really unexpected from me. But still.
It was extremely hard, but I got out of the soft, brown, queen bed. Leaving it undone.
I look at myself in the built in mirror once, before heading downstairs. Messy brown hair and a cherry red onesie. Yeah looks pretty normal to me.
"Bonjour Madame" I greet my mother, grabbing a plate of pancakes from the kitchen. "Morning Dad" I wink at him sitting down on the dining table with Madison on her phone, I think texting someone?
"Morning Kiddo" Dad ruffles my hair as I nod pouring some syrup on the pancakes with a bit of Nutella on the side. A bit unhealthy, but that's just how I roll.
He added some blueberries on top. "You need to start eating healthier Emma."
"C'mon Dad. I hate blueberries." I whined pouting my lips.
"No excuses, Emma." I sat up straight. He can be strict when he wants. But that's strongly respected. I look over at Madison to see her drinking some sort of green juice instead of pancakes.
"Uh, aren't you gonna eat Maddy?" I ask. She gives me a disgusted look.
"Uh can you mind your own business?" She thinks she can talk to me like that?
"Hey listen here-"
"Emma!" I was cut of by Mom. Mom does love me, but for some reason, she always takes Madison's side for even the most stupid reasons.
"What ma? Can't she show a little bit of respect to her sister that is 2 years older than her?" I fight back.
"You have to be her role model. She needs someone to look up to. And if you keep acting like this, you're not helping and you're grounded."
"What?" This is bullshit. Is anyone gonna help me? Looking over at Dad, he gives me a face to just shut up and that it's not worth it. But I have to agree with him. Let them have their little fit and just sit back. Cause really, that's all I can do. But seriously, Dad has to learn how to be the man of the house sometimes. Comes in handy in the future.
"Alright girls, so you're starting school on Monday." Says dad.
"Okay, which one?"
"Well there is only one high school in Holmes Chapel and thats Holmes Chapel Comprehensive High School."
Oh no. If there's only one that means those teenagers who were making out will probably be there too.
"Do you know if there's any hot guys there?" Madison asks stupidly.
"Yes," responds Mom "I've talked to the neighbours and their son goes to that high school as well. He's very handsome, I'd say." Oh God.
"You're not going to high school to date boys." Dad thankfully interrupts with an angry look on his face. Madison just shrugs.
Why would she even want to date boys. She's had at least 12 'boyfriends' in the past 2 years. Always sneaking out with them and lying about it. And I can't even ask a guy for a pencil. It just doesn't make sense. Just the thought of having one is nerve wracking.
"Oh c'mon honey, it's just how children grow up. Let your baby girl grow up." Mom stays on Maddison's side. But since Dad acts like a little baby around her, he doesn't say anything.
Honestly, Mom will regret whatever she's trying to do with Madison. Kids like her end up pregnant at 16, jobless and with no boyfriend. I honestly hate Madison so much but wouldn't be able to take it if anything like that happened. I'm her older sister. Gotta look after her, you know.
"Alright Dad, I'm gonna go upstairs and catch up on some notes so I'm good for Monday." I smile at him ending this pathetic argument.
"That's my girl. We'll go shopping for your school supplies tomorrow. You know, just extra notebooks or pencils you might need."
"Okay Dad." I fist pound him. Just our kinda little thing.
I stand up and grab a banana from the kitchen before finally heading upstairs.
I search for Holmes Chapel Comprehensive High School's website on my laptop and look for the latest notes then copy them into my note book after I put my glasses on. They're pretty nerdy, but hey. That's just me. ___________________________________

When I quickly look up at the window, the same curly haired boy that was kissing the blonde, was wearing a leather jacket today.
He was looking at me for about a minute now. Even when he realized I saw, he kept looking which caused me to lift my right hand asking why he was looking. Suddenly the boy points his pointer finger to his eye, where my glasses were sitting.
It didn't take long to realize he was making fun of me. There was now a small smirk on his face. I give him a sarcastic smile and slowly walk up to the big window and shut the curtains quite harshly but still creep in the corner of the window to see him laughing and shaking his head then turning the other way.
