"You know what I asked them? My friend?" The noirette clarified.
"What?" He asked, raising a brow although the other couldn't see.
"How badly?"
"How bad what?" Tokoyami pondered, confused.
"How badly do you want to go home?"
~~~
It was long. The days were always long. Now, Tokoyami was no main character or protagonist, he stuck out quite a lot. What with the shiny black and purple-tinted hair adorning his head. Mixed with the feathers close to his shorter golden beak, he wasn't the norm. However, he was still no amazing sight to behold.
It's not as though needing all the attention from others was necessary. Hearing all the happy praises and smiles that follow every accomplishment. All eyes on him, each trying to give and give and give.
They didn't need to.
His vision was in and out, the mute sound of his teacher's muffled voice went in one ear and out the other. His eyes dazed from his sleepy position against his arm. The view of a twisted back and lanky arms came in half clear to his eyes. It was Sero, his eyebrows were weaved together in concern.
Had the other been talking to him?
Tokoyami sat up more alert in a discreet fashion. His arms stretch in front of him, watching his classmate wirl around. They didn't say anything more than the silent conversation between their eyes. He loved those deep charcoal eyes. They held so much love and admiration. It made his chest tighten and heart flutter. He'd have to force Shoji through another gay panic later.
The sound of his notebook sliding across his desk fell into the noise around him. No one cared to notice. That's what he liked, to flow along. Without so much attention he could be happy, at least to the best of his abilities. He flipped page after page of useless notes. They were just robotic words his hand wrote in mock of his teachers.
Time slowed while he wrote. The words just flowed from the board to the paper. His deep crimson eyes trained from the whiteboard filled with black ink. When did he start to doodle? Finally looking back down his hand had made a side note.
A grave, more so a tombstone. He stared down at it for a moment, seeing the flowers covering the name. It was a small sketch but, the chill that ran up his back said differently. The water settling at his eyes was something to add. He didn't even remember drawing the small thing.
Not completely out of the ordinary. Although the pain etched through his chest and digging into his chest told him, it wasn't right. It meant something. Everything did, it all had a purpose? He wanted to dryly chuckle at himself but decided against it.
"Tokoyami." Aizawa called.
It broke him out of the silent breakdown he was about to have. "Yes sir?"
