0001. / CASSIA LOSES HER MIND

As the sun rose over the hill bringing the damn light splitting through the cold darkness. Slowly the camp woke to bring the crawl to start the new day. Cassia stood in the doorway of the Hades cabin staring off into the sunrise as she did every morning. Fiddling with the broken zipper on the black leather jacket her brother got her last birthday, she had an unreadable expression on her face as she stared.

"Apollo's early" the girl muttered crossing her arms defensively and pushing off the dark frame into a walk. She made her way through camp ignoring the looks of disgust and pity from the other demigods. Show no weakness. The girl held herself as confident as her body would allow even though she wanted to shrivel up under their stares. As she entered the dining pavilion all the talk stopped, when the girl found her seat the chatter rose back to the past loudness.

She hated it.

On her plate appeared black bean beef and rice, inhaling the heavy scent she smiled before walking to Hades offering shrine and pushing half of her meal into the fire. "Hope you like it dad" she muttered walking back to her seat alone at the hades table. "Where are you Neeks?" she mumbled looking at the empty seat across from her before tucking into her food.

"Yes Sunshine?" she smirked feeling a presence behind her.

"Seriously" he groaned before smiling and running a hand through his golden locks.

"Why are you talking to me?" she said turning to look at him "Shouldn't you be with the other agonisingly positive people" Cassie glaced past him at his siblings giving her weird looks.

"Because last time I checked you were my best friend" Will chuckled glancing at the apollo table who quickly looked at their food like it was the most interesting thing in the world.

"Sure Will, just checking" she gave him a rare smile before getting up out of her seat. "Lets go, I'm bored" grabbing his hand she lead him out of the pavilion. Campers shot the duo amused and surprised looks as they ran out to the lake. Giggling they collapsed on the grass staring out into the sky watching the clouds, the sun shone a bit brighter on the demigods.

"Oh my gods, we have to do that again" she laughed out of breath making angels in the grass itching her skin.

"Why don't you act like this normally?" Will asked looking sideways at his friend picking a piece of grass between his fingers.

"Hades kids don't belong here" she sighed refusing to meet his eyes. It was true. She never misses the looks of repulsion and pity for the fallen gods children, hell he never had belonged on on Olympus so why would his kids be any different in camp. Everyone purposely avoided her cabin and the rumors were like knives on her skin, if they weren't going to change then why should she?

"Cassie no-"

He was cut off by loud screaming and a splash.

"Oh Fudge" Cassia mumbled grabbing her best friend's hand and running towards the noise with the other curious campers. A group of demigods crawled out of the lake where broken golden chariot sunk to the bottom. Cassia could practically feel the anger radiating off her friend.

"Seriously Annabeth" Will yelled exasperated looking at the totalled chariot.

The girl stood with her arms crossed staring intently at the 3 teenagers from her distance away. Cassia never tried but she always gave off an intimidating aura it came from being a child of Hades. The demigods squirmed under her intense gaze. She stared each of the new demigods trying to determine their parents.

The first was a short hespanic boy with a crooked smile, elfish baby face and wild curly hair. He was tapping his foot and rapidly looking around at his new surroundings signaling the usual demigod ADHD. He would be a trouble maker but not like the Hermes cabin, no one could be worse than the Stolls. The camp was still recovering from the prank they pulled last week.

Hephaestus for sure.

The next was a very attractive girl but in a tonned down way making Cassie smirk. She radiated intelligence, her hair was choppily cut but that could be a way to divert attention from her beauty.

Athena or Aphrodite.

The last was a six foot blonde boy who was buff and stern, he stood like a man with authority and knew discipline. His eyes were like the sky beautiful and dangerous. The now wet  purple shirt he was wearing stuck to his body exentuating his muscles. He was attractive to put it mildly, the boy looked like he was chisled from a statue by aphrodite herself.

No, no it couldn't be. Zeus.

No that wasn't right unless.

He was roman.

"Jupiter" she whispered quietly staring at him.

"Cassie" a voice snapped her out of her thoughts.

The girl shook her head before looking at the blonde girl "Did you find him?" she asked bluntly with a hint of hope breaking through her voice at the possibility of finding her brother. At a young age they were joined at the hip, they were inseparable choosing to adopt each other as siblings, his mother was the nicest person on the planet and never turned her away. He was one of the only people in camp that didn't treat her like an outcast.

Her friend shook her head sadly making the girl sigh.

"Ok so what do we do now?" the brunette asked feeling her temper rise but not caring to control it this time. She looked at Annabeth who shrugged looking deflated. "You're the daughter of Athena wise girl, you're supposed to know everything" the daughter of Hades glared at the blonde accusingly, the grass and plants around her feet died leaving a large circle of black around her shocking the 3 new demigods. Annabeths heart clenched at the nickname.

A hand was placed on her shoulder "Cassie" Will whispered warning as a large group of campers watched on whispering amongst themselves, no doubt something about her

"No" she cut him off "You were supposed to find him" she yelled before storming off leaving a trail of black withered grass.

"How-how did she do that?" The choppy haired girl asked in shock staring at the spot where the daughter of Hades was.

"She's a daughter of Hades" Annabeth smiled sadly.

Will sighed "I'll find her" before running off through the crowd of demigods.
