Finally at the bottom of the stairway, I stood there looking for my parents.Nowhere to be found.
I went into the kitchen.
Nowhere to be found.
Maybe they went into my room to look for me?
Not in there.
They wouldn't have gone back to bed after something like this, right? Might as well check.
I grabbed the door handle and began to turn, but it wouldn't budge. Why would they lock it?
"Mom? Dad?" No response. Now I was even more worried.
I peered at the control table. I could use the thermal camera to look inside.
No. That would be wrong. But how else would I see?
My finger hovered over the "on" Button. Should I? I clamped my eyes shut and presses the button.
Sure, it felt wrong to look into my parent's bedroom through a camera, but what was I supposed to do?
I peeled my eyes open.
No. No, no no no no no. How could this happen?
There lay my parents' lifeless bodies, drapped against the door.
