A Story's Bay

Jonathan tried to scream
Olivia tried to shout
Ruby looked away
Though she new what this was about

And when all the doors opened up
And all the students turned
They realised their anxiety
Their faces red and burned

Octavia sat alone
Max then asked her out
Rachel never understood
Why she was drowning in self-doubt

And when the windows all came bare
And the girl, she then looked through
She realised how sick she was
That it wasn't just the flu

RJ listened to rock
Their music oh so loud
The sound made them feel better
About being with a crowd

So when the headphones got all tangled
And they couldn't get them loose
Their heart raced much quicker
They were now the running goose

Dean was a straight mess
He couldn't call himself proud
His breath reeked of alcohol
And his head was in a cloud

So when his boyfriend said his worries
And his hopes for things to better
Their promise was no more
On with time and weather

The children say they're fine
So look the other way
They're crumbling inside
But, a story has its bay
