It was a sunny day at the tower. (Name) and her companion, Izuku, were playing hide and seek. Again.

"Boo!" She exclaimed, pulling open the wooden doors that blocked her from the outside world.

The sudden noise startled the small chameleon, forcing him to hide behind a flower pot and turn tan. (Name) smirked, pulling her hair away from her face.

"Darn!" She said, twirling around. "I guess Izu isn't out here..."

The green animal sighed in relief, just before a lock of golden hair wrapped around his tail, pulling him to his captor. He let out a squeak as he was settled in a warm hand.

"Haha!" The girl laughed. "Found ya!"

Izuku sighed, shaking his small head. Just like last time. And the time before that. And the time before that. You get the gist.

"That makes.... Hmm. 24 for me, 12 for you. How bout 30 out of 40?" The girl tried negotiating with her reptile friend.

Izuku squeaked with a glare. (Name) sighed and put the chameleon down, sitting in the ledge of the window she had. "Well, what do you wanna do?"

Izuku smiled and made a happy noise. He faced the outside and pointed his tail forward, like he was trying to say 'Out, out!' She smiled sadly at her friend, scooping him into her hands.

"Izuku," she said with a warning tone. "You know I can't leave, as much as I want to."

He made a face at her, flicking out his tongue in disagreement. (Name) smiled, amused at the gesture. "C'mon, Izuku. It's not that bad in there." It sounded like she was trying to convince herself more than the creature in her hands.

She slid back into the tower, ready to actually start her day.

Seven a.m. the usual morning line up
Start in the chores and sweep till the floor's all clean
Polish and wax, do the laundry and mop and shine up
Sweep again and by then it's, like, 7:15

(Name) had been miserable her whole life, wanting to do nothing but go outside for once. She was used to this life, for the 17, almost 18, years she's lived in the stuffy tower.

And so I'll read a book
Or maybe two or three
I'll add a few new paintings to my gallery
I'll play guitar and knit and cook and basically
Just wonder when will my life begin?

She knows there will have to be a miracle to save her from her boring life. She knows miracles only happen in fantasy books, the books she's read over and over in her time in the tower. But hey, if you have magic, golden hair that glows when you sing, anything is possible, right?

Then after lunch it's puzzles and darts and baking
Papier-mâché, a bit of ballet and chess
Pottery and ventriloquy, candle-making
Then I'll stretch, maybe sketch
Take a climb, sew a dress

She dreams of a life outside. She knows people are out for her hair, bad people. But can you blame her? She's never met another person, hell, if there are even others out there. She knows to listen to Father, but she was desperate.

And I'll reread the books if I have time to spare
I'll paint the walls some more
I'm sure there's room somewhere
And then I'll brush and brush and brush and brush my hair
Stuck in the same place I've always been

She's thankful. Of course she's thankful. She's thankful for the magic hair she had. She's thankful that she's able to live everyday without worry that someone is going to take her. But she's most of all thankful for Chisaki Kai, since he saved her from the barbarians trying to steal her away. At least, that's what he says.
