You've Always Been Mine

IV.

Justin's POV
The next few days after her birthday, Hailey and I spent every single day together. We were almost inseparable.
"You mean to tell me you're 18 years old and you've never been ice skating?" I laugh
"I didn't say I've never been skating. I said I only went like 3 times and I never learned" she laughs
"You've only been ice skating three times?" I ask
"My mom was big on dance and didn't want to ever get hurt so yes I've only been a few times. But I'd love to learn to skate I'm just scared plus all the people around won't really help me concentrate. I think if I want to learn I need to go alone" She sighs
" Yeah, you have to try it sometime" I smile
"yeah I do"she smiles back
"So are we going to watch this movie or not?" I say
"I mean its only on pause cause you keep talking" she laughs she puts her hands over my mouth "you talk a lot"
"What no I don't" I scoff
"Justin the movie has been paused for 20 minutes because you've been making fun of me and asking me questions about skating" she rolls her eyes "what's up with the 20'questions today ?"
" just trying to distract myself that's all.. plus I like asking questions" I smile "I can stop asking if you want"
"I don't have a problem with you asking questions it's just I'm not much of a talker" she smiles "what are you trying to distract yourself from?"
"From kissing you" I smirk
"And why would you want to stop yourself" she says leaning her face toward mine
"Because I don't want to ruin our friendship.." I say as my hands roam my cheek "I really respect you and our friendship Hailey" I smile "I don't want to change anything"
"I don't either" she smiles and leans in again "we're just friends" she says before pressing her lips on mine.

And there we were again kissing. Whenever we found ourselves alone all we would do is kiss and then we'd say to each other how we're just friends but our lips would find itself right back to an embrace. There goes that part of me trying to stop her the part of me that doesn't want to ruin the friendship and the part of me that's still hung up on my past. I slightly push her way "so what are your plans for tomorrow ?" I smile
"I'm not sure, I think I'm going over to Alaias apartment why?" She asks as she raised one eyebrow
"How would you like it to hang out with me and Joe ?" I say grabbing her hand
"That sounds fun" she smiles "I don't want to ruin your plans though"
"Hailey I'm inviting you" I laugh you won't be ruining anything.

Haileys POV
November 28, 2014

it was almost 9 pm and I was pacing around Alaia's living room Justin said he'd pick me at 8:30 and it was 9 and I hadn't heard from him. I didn't want to text him cause I didn't want to seem pushy but I was worried that something might have happened to him. Right when I was about to text him he wrote me telling me him and joe where down stairs. I gave Alaia a hug and left for the night.

"So where are we going ?" I smile " again if you guys want this to be a boys night I am still a couple blocks from Alaia's"
"Okay get out" Justin says as Joe stops the car
"Umm..okay" I say as I go to grab the door
"Hailey do you honestly think we'd invite you out and kick you out the car? Is that what you think of us?" He laughs
"No I mean I asked and you told me to get out I was just do-" I start defending myself but I am shorty cut off
"Hailey we want you here... I want you here. I invited you" he laughs again
"Okay fine ... so where are we going ?" I ask again
"You'll see where almost there" he smiles
That stupid smile of his. Gosh, I hate it. It's like he knows his smile has an affect on me since he's always smiling at me... like... all the time...
Not so long after we arrive at a skating rink. There's no possible way we're going skating. I can't believe we're at a skating rink.
"Central Park rink?" I say "what are we doing here?"
"You said you wanted to learn to skate right ?" Justin laughs "Joe wants to learn too so I thought I'd bring him and teach him some things.. so I thought I'd bring you along on mine and joes date.. right joe?"
"Yeah hails you're basically the third wheel today" he laughs "me and my man have a date"
"very funny" I say looking toward Justin "wait are there a lot of people in there ?"
"No I rented it for the rest of the night .. we have access to it till 12 am" Justin says with a smile. THAT STUPID SMILE AGAIN.
"You rented it?" I ask
"Yeah, I thought it'd be nice to teach Joe to skate" he smirks at me "and you too of course"
We step out of the car and enter the very empty skate rink. Justin walked away to talk to the people that owned the rink and joe and I were waiting for him.
"So Joe.. how long have you been trying to learn?" I ask
"Hailey I know how to skate... I'm just here to keep you guys from taking off each other's clothes" he laughs
"What noooo.... clothes off ? Yeah no justin and I are friends" I say
"Hailey.. he rented a rink for you to learn to skate. He talks about you all day long.... I'm pretty sure he wants to be more than your friend.. but that's between you and me" he smiles "he's coming"
"So Joe and Baldwin are you guys ready to get your asses beat in the rink?" He laughs "they said we can get our skates back there and then head straight in"

Suddenly I couldn't form words and apart of we felt woozy did he really rent out the rink for me?
"Hailey... earth to Hailey" Justin says "here are your skates "you have giant feet by the way had to get yours custom made"
"Haha very funny.. my feet aren't big.." I role my eyes

Joe heads out to the skating rink first and I use that to my advantage and pull Justin over to me.
"I thought he couldn't skate ?" I ask
"I guess he does?..." he shrugged "So want me to hold your hand or are you just going to stand here?..." he asks extending it his arm.
I become a little hesitant and not sure if holding his hand is a good idea. Plus my hands are a little sweaty because my nerves are kicking in.. "can't handle it?" He asks
"I can handle it" I say taking him by his hand.
"So basically you have to slide with both feet at the same time. It's easier if you march in place or a little until you find your placement. Try pushing from one foot to another" he says holding my hand and pulling me toward the very slippery ice.
"I'm nervous what if I fall?" I say
"I mean if you fall we laugh and then help you up..plus joes in his own world it's just you and me here Okay?" He says looking at me in the eyes
My stomach feels likes it's been attacked by a mob of butterflies and our fingers being interlocked the way that they are isn't helping.
"Okay fine.." I smile at him "thanks for bringing me here. I really appreciate it." I say "you didn't have to"
"I wanted to plus.. I love to skate, I've been skating since I was like 6 or 7" he says letting go of my hand but quickly grabbing it back when he realized I was losing my grip with the floor and my skate.
Justin helps me skate for a little bit and then him and joe decide to play some hockey. I sit and cheer them on—on the side. Justin skates toward me and says "if I make this puck in you owe me a kiss" he smirks
"okay" I smile looking down "it's a bet"
And not even 2 minutes in Justin score and skates back towards me sitting on the ground.
"I think you owe me something Baldwin..." he smiles and leans his lips toward me.
Joe skates toward us and says "man you forfeit already?" He laughs but then realizes he interrupted us
"I'm so sorry I didn't know you guys were going to ki-" he says but Justin interrupts him
"No man.. were just talking" he laughs
For the rest of the night we sit and talk all three of us. While apart of me wished I was making out with Justin, I also realized that if something is meant to happen it will regardless of who's around."
Justin and Joe drive me back to Alaia's where Justin insist to walk me inside and wait for the elevator with me.
"Elevators here" I say as I looks toward him
He clears his throat "you still owe me a kiss" he smiles
And with that our night ends with a kiss.
"I'll see you tomorrow" he smiles
"Okay.. see you tomorrow" I say back, walking into the elevator.
