The purge

Chapt.2

Monday, March 2020
1:10 AM, Tom's POV

Tom had been red all day, what had happened yesterday morning was truly embarrassing,  he had no words to explain how idiotic he thinks he is at this moment

Tom had always wondered if Jake liked him back, of course, like always, it was hard to make out what was held in his eyes, he had caught Jake staring at him a few times, sometimes even at his lips

My lips

Jake had been staring at him, and Tom just stared back like an idiot, god-- he always got lost in those astonishing blue eyes, they contained so much beauty in them--

Now Tom was next to Jake, as they both browsed on their phone, he could hear the silent tapping of their fingers on their phones, other than that, it was completely silent, Zendaya and Jacob took another room and left both Jake and Tom alone

Because obviously, Zendaya and Jacob just love to embarrass Tom, it was their culture for gods sake

Tom gathered all his courage, then turned to look at Jake. " H-hey Jake?-- " Tom squeaked, Jake turned to look at him, placing his phone down on the ground. " Yes, Tom? " Jake answered in his deep baritone voice, Tom was starting to feel slightly aroused

Jake gave Tom a little smile, assuring him that Tom was free to tell him anything, Tom slowly nodded.

And then Tom got on top of Jake

1:15, Jake's POV

He widened his eyes as Tom got up, and sat on top of Jake, wrapping his arms around Jake's neck, his breath stopped, what the hell was Tom doing?

Both Tom's and Jake's faces went crimson red, Tom looked more embarrassed, and frightened, though

" T-Tom? " Jake muttered, his eyes still wide, and his mind racing through a thousand thoughts

Then Tom leaned in, too kiss him

Jake just sat there, staring like an idiot while Tom connected their lips, before they could do anything else though, an alarm started echoing loud throughout the city, and Tom jumped from his position,  scrambling out of Jake's lap and sitting back where he was before

" This is not a test "

" This is your Emergency Broadcast System announcing the commencement of the Annual Purge, sanctioned by the U.S Government "

" Commencing at the siren, any and all crime, including murder, will be legal for 3-4 continuous months, every year. "

" Weapons of class-4 and lower have been authorized for use during the Purge. All other weapons are restricted.  "

" Good luck. "

Tom and Jake suddenly heard a siren, they both turned their heads to eachother, both staring at eachother with wide eyes, Tom's hands were slightly trembling, so as his pupils, Jake was confused, Tom just kissed him-- and now-- the Purge just became a thing?

Jake heard footsteps that were rapidly approaching their room, shouts of fear and protest could be heard out of the window aswell.

Jacob and Zendaya burst through the door. " What the fuck was that?! " She screamed, Jacob just looked around with a confused look, as if he had just woken up and heard nothing

" The government has to be playing some sort of prank on us! " Tom cried out, his voice full of panic and dread, and so as his doe eyes, filled with so much emotion, as always, but this time-- it was actually terrifying instead of fascinating

" There's no way they would do this-- every year? " Jake muttered, looking at the boring white wall infront of him, he got lost in thoughts, the voices of his co-stars drifting away, and getting blurry

Jesus christ, the Purge is real, this is why Tom was acting so scared and distracted all the time

His mind was full of thoughts and concerns of the Purge, what was gonna happen? Were they gonna die? Were his friends gonna die? Was this place gonna become a fucking war zone every few months?

Jake had tried to think of something else, but nothing came to mind-- except one little stray thought bouncing in the back of his mind, trying desperately to get his attention

All the thoughts in his mind parted, making way for a new thought

Tom kissed me

Why did he kiss me

What did that mean

Was it an accident

He got on top of me

A swarm of related thoughts started taking control of his brain, he snapped back to reality when he heard Zendaya scream at him

" Jesus! You sounded like a latina mom! " Jake yelled at her, clearly mad she disturbed his thoughts, Zendaya rolled her eyes, and stormed out of the room, her stomps very loud and clear, Jacob was still clearly very confused, but scrambled after her in fear

Jake turned his head behind him, back to the bed where Tom slept, he saw Tom looking down at his fingers, where he was fiddling with them. ' Jesus, he's adorable when he does that. ' Jake shook his head and sat next to him, the bed dipping from his weight, Tom looked up at him with wide, scared eyes

" Did you watch the movie-- " Tom asked, clearly trying to get rid of the conversation the two men were about to have, Jake rolled his eyes. " Dont pretend that you didnt just kiss me. " he said firmly, Tom looked back down at his hands

" I-im sorry-- " he muttered quietly, Tom looked awfully embarrassed, he was hunched over while darting his eyes up to Jake, then back to his hands, if you looked close enough, you could see he was slightly shaking

" Tom, why did you kiss me? " Jake asked, making his voice soft and gentle, Tom looked up at him once again, you had to be gentle with Tom, he was like a five-year-old who was awfully sensitive, and would break down the second you start yelling.

Tom stared at Jake for a few seconds, the tension between them became thick, and the voices that were heard earlier yelling down the street became silent

Everything, was silent

Tom opened his mouth, and closed it again, he looked like he wanted to say something, but was having a hard time actually saying it

" Jake i- "
