VERONICA EMPIRE

Its been a week since Cent has left. I and Dereck got on to his quarters but it was closed and even the neighbours didn't have the opinion of where he had disappeared. Derry confided me to save that issue aside for a while because I was carrying all this mishap too much upon me.

But I never felt casual because I feel there is something, otherwise, Cent is not the someone who would run off without even informing us and the best thing was that Soph was also showing up to school today.

I drove to school on my Audi which I would be lending for service after school because my poor mate looked exhausted. I parked my car and was instantly pulled into a bone-crushing hug. No doubt the scent of peppery, nutmeg scent of burnt wood magnificently filled my senses and I helplessly fade in his embrace. I clutched his hair which felt healthy and shiny like pearls.

"Ahem are you two done?" we both jerked at the unexpected approach of Michael.

"What do you need?" inquired a very pissed off Derry.

"Like you have everything under your clasp." he rolled his eyes and winked at me.

I was like what. How dare he? Ignoramus.

" Yes, considerable stuff are under my clasp. Want a look?" He let out mocking Michael.

" I don't have a fondness for vacant slots." Oops! Burn. Derry was steaming with fury and before he could retort a jaguar rolled in front off us. I recognized whose car it was and Tyson leapt out of it and unlocked the door for Soph who looked healthier and merrier.

She gave Tyson a peck and hovered at us. From my rearview, I saw Michael sighing in disappointment but nevertheless, he was flashing. I know how he is suffering now, I can connect it. Being used, exploited, joked and yet caring. Someplace inside me, I knew very clearly that I will always watch for Tyson and there's no way denying.

They both walked towards us, I saw Ty was retaining troubles meeting me.

Soph jogged to me and squeezed me like it was her last day and she would not be seeing me furthermore.

"Finally" we both howled still hugging. I promise you, Soph, I'll always keep you safe because you are my sister. She also looked at me and I got lost on our identical features our brunette hair, high cheekbones, perfect brows but not related eye colours she possessed blue-greyish which she inherited from Mr Rutherford and mine were brown ones. I thought of the day she decided to suicide, what would have taken place if she never showed up out of her coma. I would never be able to forgive myself. My visions tore down and I cuddled her once again. I saw Tyson staring me quietly because he understood I cared for my sister, more than my emotions for him.

Then she moved to Michael as well as Derry. Derry grabbed her up and spun around. She yelled and started punching Derry by his shoulders. We all chuckled at her childlike behaviour. Derry looked so adorable, no surprise Soph onetime fell for him.

Soph strutted beside and Derry snaked his arm over my shoulder bringing me extra close to him. I peeked at him with bewilderment but he wasn't looking me, he stared straight at Tyson in a partially challenging way. For my surprise, I gawked Tyson tightly flashing at Soph and leaving.

What does that mean? I'm not getting onto any conclusions. Because they lead to Chaos.

Our day was getting on good with history, algebra, P.E everything was pretty cool and here's the surprise, we all got a notice that due to suspicion of the spread of a virus we are having our final exams early. Although our portions were wrapped up. Some were making facing, others got tensed, But I was born prepared to deal with the exams.

"God, Ron I guess I arrived today with bad luck" Soph came up and settled with her sandwich.

Hearing this Derry smacked her lightly on her head. " Don't talk nonsense kid." She pouted glancing him and me.

I blinked at her, suddenly my thoughts distracted to the abrupt disappearance of Cent.

Where are you Cent?
