9. demigods are assholes, except one.

"I do not think this is a good idea.", he hears Namjoon say behind him, as he pulls the silver sword off the wall and stashes it hurriedly in the black duffel back Hoseok had handed him. 

"You have a better one?", he asks with his eyebrows raised, even though he doesn't turn around. He picks up a couple of shortswords, throwing them into the bag. He hears Namjoon sigh behind him. 

"You can't interfere in angelic matters. You're a demigod, for God's sake. When was the last time a demigod even went down to earth?", Namjoon's exasperated voice rings behind Jimin, filled with anger. 

"I can't do this anymore.", Jimin says, his voice quiet, almost on the brink of cracking. "I have waited a year, a whole year. I waited as your angels tried to find him. I waited even when each day your angels would come back and tell me they couldn't find him. I've had enough. I will go down there, and I will find him. I dare you to stop me.", Jimin's voice is firm and commanding. 

He stands there, looking up into the eyes of the angel before him. Jimin respected Namjoon because Taehyung had respected him. He still respects him, despite the fact that Taehyung isn't with him. But Namjoon couldn't stop him. No one could. Taehyung was family. 

Namjoon sighs again. Jimin could see the exhaustion in his eyes. To the council of demigods, Taehyung was just another angel, not worth the trouble of having to send too many angels after him. Namjoon, along with Jimin, was the only one who fought for months with them, trying to make them understand how important Taehyung was. The only thing that made Taehyung precious were the wings, according to the council. Since he had lost them, nobody was willing to find him. They thought to let him die would be the best punishment. Finally, the council agreed to them but by then,  there were no leads. Nothing to know where Taehyung could have gone. 

"Namjoon,", Jimin started, "Look, I know this seems too much. I know that this is not the way I'm meant to act. It's not like I haven't heard the rumors. Everyone hates the fact that a demigod could care so much about an angel. But you know me and you know Taehyung. You know what he means to me."

"Then promise me one thing, Jimin.", Namjoon says, his eyes shining with a kind of intense anger and hope that Jimin was almost astonished. 

"Find Taehyung. And kill the son of a bitch who took him away from us."

Jimin smiles then, for the first time since Taehyung went missing. 

"Of course."
