"Tell me the truth.", I say. I can't take this anymore "Why are you here?"

"What's the rush? I really thought you would be more fun. Apparently not.", he said, slightly rolling his eyes. He takes a step towards me, serious in the blink of an eye. "You wanna know the truth? I came here because I know you're dying. It's not exactly a secret, is it?", he asks. I wanted to retort and say it was a low blow, but the words didn't leave my mouth. It was real and it was gonna happen and yet it didn't feel that way. He steps closer.

"I know you're weak. The weakest you could ever be. And I'm here to take advantage of that.", he whispers the last sentence out. He's close enough for me to feel his breath on my face. Chills run down my spine. His breaths feel cold, like a slow winter breeze. My hand shivers as his fingers lightly touch the area right below my chin, forcing my face up to his, tilting it ever so slightly that I almost don't notice it.

"Your wings belong to me. And so do you.", he smirks, taking his hand away from my face. His smirk widens when I let out a sigh as he takes a step back.

"I don't belong to you.", I say, enraged. "I'd rather die."

"Really? Cause I don't think so.", he says.

"You have the wings. You don't need me."

"But I do", his tone serious, "I can't access the wings' full potential."

"What?"

"Don't pretend you don't know this. You know I can't fully gain the wings' power without a consensual blood oath."

"Umm, is it weird that I don't know that?", I say, confused. The wings weren't the wings I was given when I was created. The wings that I had, or rather Jungkook did, were actually gifts from a demigod, namely Jimin. He had told me that he had fashioned the most powerful wings known to angelkind for me. You could say he was a friend, but really he was way more than that. We angels don't have a family. But Jimin was. Memories of him suddenly filled my thoughts. I missed him. But I didn't know what Jungkook was talking about.

"You expect me to believe that?", he asked. "I knew there was something wrong when I defeated you so easily that day. It's because you knew that even if I had your wings, I could do nothing with them."

"Right. That's definitely why you defeated me. No other reason." I chuckle, hoping that it would save me some face. I don't know what he's talking about, but there's no harm in playing along.

He gives me a confused look, that might have been funny or even cute in other circumstances, but right now I can't really focus on that.

"Anyway, I have two options. Either you willingly come with me and I give you a pair of wings to let you survive. I know it won't help in the long term, but hopefully, we'll be done before the long term starts. Or I could make you do the former."
