An object can not decide to rust on its own without oxygen and water.

They both bring life to humanity, right?

But water. It's life, yet we can drown in it unknowingly with little hope of surviving.

And oxygen,

It rusts away the minor object we once fell in love with.

"I'm sorry, it was a mistake. I swear that wasn't my intention," he stared at me vividly, waiting for me to respond.

The weather today, which was cozy and reliable, had pushed a lot of energy and sarcasm into my attitude. I wasn't ready to see anyone today, so I stayed in my bed with just my phone, and my earpiece plugged into my ears. Nonetheless, such a journey would have continued if not for the specimen standing right in front of me that had me book an Uber to this deserted area.

Putting up a fake smile, I moved back to the bench I was sitting on recently and gazed at the environment, which was more of sand and mountains than I had imagined. I tugged onto my hoodie jacket to release the tension that was occurring at the moment.

The slight action that jumped into my mind had me on my feet once again. The fake smile washed away, leaving me with straight lips. It moved me out of my comfort zone as I stretched my hands, making it have contact with his face.

Having fewer words to say, I reached over to my jean pocket and brought out the pen drive I had stored all the information in, not even sparing a glance at him.

"You should have thought about that first, you know? You should have known it'll blow up my cover and lead me to trouble, but no. You thought you were brave, huh? So now tell me, what will your sorry do? Will it drive me out of where I am today? No, it won't, so get that into your head."

I hand the pen drive to him. Stumbling backward, I pivoted and walked away. I walked out on things that had no value, but I ended up in ditches I had gone far with or had no escape path.
