When our eyes first met!

Growing up, we got to know that my dad was one of the wealthiest men in the state. He was a business man and always made time for us, his family. Everything was always nice when he's around or back from his countless business trip. My mom said he was her first love.

I had the best mom ever who was contented and was never impartial. She smiles even in the most miserable and unbearable situation. Being a wealthy Latina who got the inheritance of her grandma (her only surviving family then), she still wasn't moved by it and remain ever loving to everyone. She was a stay at home mom not because she had to but because she wanted to. The house reminds her of her grandmama so she never wanted to relocate. For years we stayed and lived happily here in my mom's estate in the province.

My mom inherited the whole of her grandmama's vast estate. We all saw this place as a perfect serenity and beauty, this place was to die for. My mom turned this place into a field because it was her dream to fulfil her grandmama's dream. The Field located just outside the country village, called La Savanas, was the name give to the wild tract of land where mom ranch: flower plantation, sugarcane plantation and coconut plantation; a forest garden and a lake at the end of the estate. And in the middle of that estate stood the magnificent mansion of mom.

This place was what her grandma had always wanted so she made it come true. My dad supported her and allowed us stay in it, even giving us Spanish names of our moms ancestors so we could never forget where she came from. That's just how much he loved her and cherished the things she love.

They had three kids, myself, León my twin and Javier the oldest. Javier was eighteen and I and León were thirteen, we were born a little late because my mom had a miscarriage and needed to heal. But we were happy and everything was just as it was met to be until...

"Listen Àngelita I didn't mean to" my dad said pleadingly as he followed her out of the room into their bed room.

This was the first time we have ever seen our mom cry because of my dad before. It never happened, I was scared seeing her cry because I couldn't understand why my mom who always smile was now crying miserably while holding that mail.

That day started quietly until the mail came, my mom always received it but today she just kept on staring at that particular mail and started crying. She told us to go to our rooms in the morning after she read the mail but ofcourse we couldn't leave her like that.

She sat on the floor with her kneel beside her chest. We could hear silence sobs frequently as we stood behind the door peeping through the keyhole out of curiosity.

My dad came home late that day but she never left that position at all. I knew I was scared to see her like that...we all were. León intertwined his fingers in between mine as he silently whispered that everything was gonna be okay. He was always the one understanding me more than my older brother who was sitting on the floor beside the door quietly biting his lower lips something he does when he's upset or nervous.

We were tired and hungry that day from peeping. Mom sent all the mansion employees home that day as she sat on the floor with her long thick brown hair spreading on different directions on her face.

We all stood abruptly as we heard the door spread open revealing my dad who was dragging his briefcase into the huge sitting room. He couldn't see us because we were inside the hall that leads to the living room by mom. So we just peeped quietly so we could hear what was happening.

My mom raised her head slowly revealing a pale and swollen eyes as she stared at my dad who was confused as to why she was crying. She threw the mail at him without standing up or looking into his eyes.
