Later, I heard footsteps in the hallway. I had the feeling that it was Piers. It could only be him after all. The door of Marnie's room opened, and there he was. He noticed I was still awake.
"Aren't you asleep yet?" He whispered to me. I shook my head. "I can't sleep."
"Somethin' wrong?" He asked. "N-no I'm just having trouble sleeping." I said. I couldn't tell him it was because I was thinking of him.
"I see. Wanna get some water?" He asked. I nodded and I followed him to the kitchen, silently closing the door of Marnie's room behind me.
"Are you often havin' trouble sleepin'?" Piers asked while he gave me a glass of water.
"Yeah, there's just a lot on my mind." I took a sip of water.
"I know the feelin'. Well, if you wanna talk 'bout it, I'm always here to listen." He said.
"Thanks Piers, that's so sweet of you." I smiled. He is so sweet, I thought.
"Would you like me to sing you a song? Maybe that would help you to fall asleep. I always sing for my sis too, whenever she has trouble sleepin'." He told me.
I was flattered. Did he just say he wants to sing for me??? Of course, I couldn't say no to that.
"O-of course! That would be great." I blushed.
Piers grabbed his guitar, and he sat down with it on the couch, holding it on his lap. I sat down beside him. I felt my cheeks glow up.
He started to play his guitar softly, and not long after that he started singing. His voice sounded like an angel, so warm and soft. He sounded different than when he was giving the concert. I closed my eyes as I was listening to his song, and after a while, I slowly fell asleep on his shoulder.
~**Marnie's P.O.V.**~
The next morning, I woke up and noticed that Sanne wasn't lying on the bed next to me. Maybe she is already awake, I thought to myself.
So I decided to wake up Piers first, because it always took him forever to get out of bed in the morning.
I knocked on his door. "Wake up sleepy head!" I yelled. But when I opened the door of his room, he wasn't there. That's strange, I thought. He's never up this early.
