When Bakugou had asked for her address she was suspicious, not because she didn't trust him. More so, she was curious as to why he wanted it. Did he want to be nosy? Did he want to send a letter? She wasn't sure and every once and a while it popped into her head and she got a little anxious thinking about it.

As she stood on her doorstep staring at a box that she didn't order things were starting to add up. The outside of the box was rather nondescript but she had a feeling it was from him.

She brought it inside, setting it on the counter grabbing a knife to open it up. Inside the box sat a succulent, green in the middle in a gradient to black to the end. Leaves sticking out in a circular pattern. It was a black prince succulent, she recognized.

In the box, there was a note.

Here is another plant for your garden.

- Bakugou

The note made her laugh, it was so straight forward. She took the note and pinned it to her fridge. She took the succulent out to her balcony placing it where it would get the perfect amount of light. Suddenly, an idea popped in her head. She should send a picture of her and the plant. Why? Well, the obvious was as a 'thank you' and to show appreciation for the gift. But she also liked the idea of him being able to put a face to her voice and a part of her hoped he'd return of photo of himself someday.

Yes, she had considered looking him up. She only had his last name but she was sure if she was determined she could find him. Two things stopped her from this. The first one was what if she found him or someone she thought he was and it threw off the dynamic they had only to find out it wasn't even him. The second one, which was the more convincing one, was that looking him up felt like a breach of privacy. Yes, the internet was public and whatever she found was one way or another expected by that person to show up but deep down it just felt wrong to her.

She snapped the selfie, plant next to her cheek with a big smile, her small garden in the background. She took a breath before sending it.

植物をありがとう!大好きです!
Thank you for the plant! I love it!

She decided to close her phone and set it aside so she could get some work done without obsessing over the message that she sent.

Bakugou was working late, this wasn't an uncommon thing for him. Being a high ranking pro hero meant putting in a lot of hours, something he never minded. There had been a lot of crime today and he had spent the last three hours tracking down a criminal that had gotten away from other heroes earlier in the day.

It had been harder than he'd like to admit, he hated the thought of a villain outsmarting him but this guy was cunning and when Bakugou finally closed in he didn't get much of a fight in before the villain teleported away. He gave chase but was unable to find him.

Bakugou hit his clenched fist against the cement wall of the industrial building. He was the number two hero, he was better than letting some small-time criminal getaway.

He returned to his agency in a foul mood, he filed a report with all of the information on the villain and what he saw of his quirk so others would be prepared if they ran into him.

He entered into his penthouse, slamming the door shut. He hoped he would have another chance at that villain to prove himself the better man. Bakugou knew on nights like these he was bound to be in a bad mood for the whole night. While he had grown from the bad temper he had as a teenager it didn't mean he never got upset. It was more like he had a greater tolerance for things rather than his anger leaving permanently. And there was nothing like feeling second best to a villain to throw him back into that anger.
