"She looks so sad now." He hesitates, looking down at my frowning lips. "I hate seeing her sad."

My fractured heart feels like it's been coated with cement, creating a heavy feeling beneath my breast. It's almost as if he's somehow projecting his feelings onto me just by touching my cheek.

"What are you going to do if you can't get her memories back?"

"Then I'm prepared to teach her everything again. I'll make her fall in love with me all over again. But I'm going to get her memories back--- even if it's the last thing I do."

By the heavens above, that female doesn't know how lucky she is to have a male like this man. I wish more than anything for a male-- anyone really-- to care for me as deeply as he does for this female.

"And what will you do if you do get her memories back?"

"You mean when?"

I nod yes, waiting for an answer.

"Well, for one, I'll never let go of her again."
