WARNING: MILD VIOLENCE AND CURSING.
My eyes widened. Was this man who played doctor going to shoot me? Entering this house, I had realized that no matter how nice people looked, they weren't. They were just hiding behind a 'kind' façade and try to rip you apart the first chance they got.
I blinked a few times, my breath hitched again. What was wrong with men and them pointing guns at me? I remained silent, scooting a little further on the bed. The tall man's expression was emotionless, almost blank. His brown eyes hidden behind thick framed round glasses were empty too.
This was the yakuza after all.
They didn't need men with emotions. And unfortunately, I was not emotionless nor a trained killer. I'd probably end up dead soon enough.
"You've got a lot to learn. " he murmured and put the gun on his desk. I was a little relieved but I didn't show it. Jin scribbled something on his folder.
"Why are you giving me a gun? I might shoot you?" I asked lowly, curiously examining the heavy weapon in my hand.
"It's not loaded. " Jin added nontechnically and closed the folder, looking back up at me with an uptight smile.
The door slowly creaked open and a short brown haired girl peeked her head through. Jin turned around and then looked back at me.
"Can you walk?" he asked lowly, I nodded in response. Despite all of the wounds and probably the marks on my body that were going to hurt for days, nothing was as painful as being away from the girl of my dreams. Hell, I didn't know if she was alright, I didn't know if she knew I was taken away. How would she react? Would she cry? Would she lock herself in her room? Did she even miss me? Being in this mansion completely make me lose track of time.
"She will escort you to Vante's office. Be nicer, he is not as patient as you think. " I rolled my eyes at that. He did beat me up to death, I was afraid of him, yet there was something in his eyes that made me want to somehow push his buttons more, to make him angry, to make him lose his self-control. That man did seem as if everything was in control, perhaps his thoughts were more well-put than mine?
I slowly got up from the bed. My feet felt weak, probably from the medicine. I also wondered why was I escorted by a single person out, a girl for that matter. Where were Vante's gorillas? Was he that dumb or careless?
With one last glance at Jin, I was out from the room and the girl in front of me started leading me down a very dark hallway. I noticed the statues, the dark pictures hanging all over the walls. This mansion felt like a haunted castle. I wondered how many souls were trapped in here? Souls like me, with no purpose of life.
Betrayed souls.
While walking, I saw the girl in front of me stop and turn around slowly. She had a caramel skin that perfectly contrasted with her hazel eyes. Long strands of hair fell over the sides of her oval face. Plush lips pressed in a thin line as she scanned me up and down.
Who was she anyways.
"Why- are you looking at me like that?" I asked quietly. The girl remained silent then became doing some movements with her hands. I didn't realized it at first, I was way too out of my mind to even realize what she was doing.
"Why aren't you speaking?" I asked lamely. She just looked at me with a look on her face that was saying that she was giving up and turned back around, motioning for me to follow her.
We finally reached two wooden doors with tigers carved into the surface. It looked beautiful. Too bad it led to the pits of Hell I was about to walk in.
The doors opened and I hesitated for a second. This was the same office I was in a few days ago. What was his deal? Why was he calling me back in here instead of throwing me into the chamber I was? I realized that being in there was a better alternative than having his attention on me.
I knew that if I made the smallest mistake I'd die. Perhaps I should do the wrong steps? But yet again, her face popped in my head. I couldn't die. Not before I see her for one last time and make sure she is alright.
I turned around to glance at the girl who had escorted me here. She was looking at me with expecting look in her eyes. It was odd because only her eyes spoke. Before entering, she parted her mouth and my eyes widened.
