Eventually, we were all kicked to our rooms for the night. Jangmi and Seokmin had talked to other students right before curfew, and after a few minutes, there was a light knock on the door. When I opened it, it revealed our group of friends and some extra characters.
Jangmi let them inside and I watched the group pour in swiftly and somehow quietly.
Once everyone was crowded into the middle of our dorm, Jangmi introduced Hyunjin and me to everyone.
"So obviously, we all know each other, but to those of us just joining, these are our new friends Hyunjin, and Y/n!" We both awkwardly waved as she continued. "So we've all met Mr. B when he saved Y/n from the pool, that lanky guy on the back there goes by BamBam-"
"You were Y/n's Uber the other day!" Hyunjin exclaimed." We all looked at him confused and he shrugged. "I logged into your account to make sure you were safe. We really thought you got kidnapped." I rolled my eyes and then BamBam and I gave each other and friendly smile and nod.
"Anyway..." Jangmi continued, "That buff guy there is Changbin and he shares a room with Felix and Chris! BamBam and Chris are besties so he hangs with us sometimes. Oh! Minho and Jisung are probably studying or something right now, they might not show. Have you met Jisung yet?" She rambled.
I started to shake my head when we heard a knock on the door. "Everyone hide!" Seokmin whispered. I watched everyone break up and run to different rooms like bugs when you lift a rock. I felt a hand around my wrist, and suddenly I was being pulled into my room by Felix.
Once the door is shut, I make eye contact with him, and then Hyunjin who is sitting on the end of my bed. "You got her! I thought you were gonna stay frozen." He chuckled. I rolled my eyes and pressed my ear against the door.
There was distant mumbling and I could hear Seokmins creaky door. They were checking rooms.
I looked between the two boys in my room. Hyunjin nodded and started shining himself under the bed. Felix went to join him, but I grabbed his wrist this time and started moving him to the wardrobe. "Don't you think they'll check here?"
I gestured towards the bed where Hyunins socks were peeking from the end of the bed. He just nodded and I closed the door behind him.
The air was still as I threw a blanket over the edge of the bed. Then the door creaked open, and Mrs. Crow peeked in the room. She did a quick scan, and Jangmi and Seokmin had their heads lowered behind her. Mrs. Crow took a step towards the wardrobe and I held my breath.
"Keep it down, ladies. Good night." She said to the three of us. She walked out of the room and Jangmi and Seokmin followed. I stood in the doorway to watch and make sure she left.
"All clear," I mumbled.
Hyunjin pulled himself out and came over to hug me. "You did great! Take a minute to stop shaking and join the group, okay?" I nodded and he patted my shoulder before going back out.
I let out a deep breath and turned around. Felix was already standing there with his arms crossed. "Need a water or anything?" His voice was kind, but his face was smug. I scanned his eyes, but at some point, I forgot what I was looking for.
He scoffed and got closer to me. "Be right back then." He stepped past me and left the room as well.
I shut my door and walked to my bed. My hands weren't shaking and my breathing was steady, but I couldn't bring myself to go out there. I flopped onto my bed, making a pillow fall.
After a couple of minutes, that same pillow hit me in the face. I rolled over to see Felix with a glass in his hand, water brimming the top. He just stared at me. He raised an eyebrow as if he was telling me to drink it. I sat up and carefully took the glass from him, sipping as I did so I didn't spill anything.
I stared at the floor while I took slow drinks. His eyes burned holes in the top of my head. Once I drank most of it, I reached to place it on the dresser by my bed. He grabbed the cup and put it back in my hands. "There's still a sip left. Take your time." I nodded and reluctantly drank the last couple of drops.
He gently took the cup from my hands and turned to leave. When he reached the door, however, he turned back around. I gave him a small smile and patted the spot next to me on the bed.
He looked back outside the door before slowly closing it and walking back to me. He placed the glass where I was going to and took a seat next to me.
There was a long silence until he sighed. "About the other day, I'm sorry. I really shouldn't have joked about your situation and everything. I'm sorry." I started to wave my hand to tell him it was alright, but he clasped his around mine and shook his head. "No, it's not okay. I even had the nerve to get angry about it. I'm so... embarrassed, and guilty." I tried to look him in the eyes, but I couldn't help staring at his hands wrapped around mine.
They were the same size as mine and warm, but not clammy. They were smooth and soft, and he wasn't squeezing or gripping my hand, just lightly holding it.
Once I realized he wasn't saying anything anymore, I looked up at him, and he was staring at me. I opened my mouth to say something when the door slammed open. "Felix you leave her alone!" A boy said, slightly too loud.
Felix immediately rushed to him and covered his mouth. "Jisung, if you get us in trouble, so help me-"
Before Felix could finish his sentence, both boys were whacked on the head with a magazine. "You both need to hush. You've scared poor Y/n." Chris scolded the two.
My eyes were wide, but not out of fear, out of shock.
