Pilot || part 1

"That's what, a three-story fall to the deck? I'd say you'll have a 1 in 3 chance of survival," Pope, one of JJ's friend shrugs as he watches his friend stand on top of the roof of the building with one leg dangling off.

"Should I do it?" John B asks everyone.

"Yeah, jump" Pope replies a little too quickly, "I'll shoot you on the way down."

"You'll shoot me?" John B raises an eyebrow down at the boy before taking a sip of his beer.

Pope just nods in return.

"They're gonna have Japanese toilets with towel warmers," Kie, another one of JJ's friends, comes out of the half-built house and on the balcony where the rest of the teenagers stood.

"Of course. Why wouldn't they?"

This is JJ's crew, the one Rhea had heard so much about. She could not say she was disappointed or let down at all. The three teenagers she just met seemed like some of the most genuine people she had ever met in her life. It had only been a few hours since she knew them, but it definitely isn't a bad experience. In fact, Rhea is enjoying herself a lot right now, watching the four friends joke around with each other.

"This used to be a turtle habitat, but who cares about the turtles I guess?" Kie adds on, shaking her head.

"Don't spill that beer. I'm not giving you another one." JJ claims as he takes a chug from his own beer.

As soon as JJ says that, John B loses his footing and his beer can goes hurling down, "Whoa! Oh, shit."

Rhea watches it fall and spill out right next to her. Surprised, she looks up at John B, who smiles guiltily back at her.

"Of course you did," JJ scoffs and finishes the rest of his beer.

"Sorry Rhea," John B apologizes and begins to get down.

Rhea is about to assure him that it's fine, but a voice interrupts her.

"-Hey!"

JJ had mentioned to her that they were technically trespassing and might need to run from the police. The idea didn't seem to bother Rhea at all. If anything, she was more attracted to the idea of doing it.

"Hey, uh, security's here," Kie informs everyone as she leans over the edge of the house to see whose voice it was.

All the teens scramble to grab their stuff.

"Boys are early today," JJ laughs and helps Rhea up, "Gary, is that you?"

He chucks his empty can on the ground, and with that, they all begin running. As they are ducking the wooden infrastructure in the house, Kie grabs a hold of Rhea's hand and tugs her along. The two girls make their way over to a van that John B unlocks and they all get in.

Rhea gasps, trying to catch her breath inside the van as Kie opens the door, completely unfazed by what just happened and how fast they had run.

"I have to start running more," Rhea breaths out quietly and moves closer to the door to see what was going on outside of the van.

She watches in amazement as Pope jumps in the moving vehicle without any effort and rests his body against a chair in the back. Quickly, Rhea whips her head back to see JJ running with a cop on his tail.

"Check out Gary, gunnin' for a raise," JJ points to the cop, "Come on, Gary!"

Rhea can't help but giggle slightly.

"Hey," Kie shouts out, "Slow down. You're going him a heart attack.

JJ just laughs before turning to the cop, "They don't pay you enough for this bro."
