Draco paced up and down the room, a soft thud could be heard each time one of his sock clad feet hit the ground. Back and forth he went, following the same path he had been following since Dinner ended. Any courage he held previously seemed to have vanished, not a drop remaining. Harry would be coming by any moment, and Draco's thoughts were scrambled. He knew what he wanted to say, what he needed to say. He just did not know how to get there. Glancing at the muggle style clock on the walk, the blonde took note at how it was almost two minutes until half past the end of dinner. A few more paces of the floor and it was only one minute to go. At a minute past the half hour mark, Draco heard a knock which caused him to freeze, staring at the door.

'I can't do this' Draco thought, his feet betraying him as they walked towards the door. Despite only wearing socks, the Slytherin's feet felt like two lead weights, his arm jelly as he reached up to open the door. Seeing Harry standing there brought butterflies to his stomach from nerves, and he couldn't help but smile.

"Hey," He breathed out, his voice soft but Harry was able to hear it, a smile forming on the Gryffindor's face.

"Hi," Harry almost whispered back, both boys just taking a moment to glance at each other. Harry changed since dinner, now wearing a tan colored sweater paired with a pair of maroon joggers. He had a simple pair of white slip on vans on his feet. After examining his outfit while avoiding eye contact, Draco moved aside to let Harry in. The Gryffindor walked in, awkwardly shuffling from foot to foot. Draco walked towards the sofa, Harry following after him.

"Would you like some tea Harry?" Draco asked, already walking towards where the kettle was waiting for him. Harry smiled to himself, Draco knew him so well.

A half an hour of small talk and tea drinking later, Harry and Draco were both running out of things to talk about in order to distract themselves from the main topic at hand. It had gone silent for a few moments, the air tense. Draco's heartbeat was so loud in his ears that he could have sworn that Harry could hear it. Suddenly, despite the sweaty palms and his heartbeat drumming in his ears, Draco found temporary courage.

"Harry," He started, swallowing a lump in his throat. Harry put his cup down, instantly knowing what was happening.

"Yeah?" Both boys tried not to show their nerves to each other, unaware at how nervous the other.

"We, we need to talk," Draco paused to gather his thoughts, "talk about Valentine's Day," Harry nodded before turning fully towards him, running a hand through his hair.

"Yeah, we have a lot to talk about, it's just a matter of where to start," Draco hummed in agreement, biting his lip in thought. After a moment he spoke.

"How about I start with an apology of the way I reacted by running out after we were done eating. Everything was so overwhelming, and I didn't have the courage to face my feelings so I ran," Draco continued to bite his lip, staring at his hands which held his cup of tea. If he didn't hold it, his hands would be showing how nervous he was by shaking. He must have been shaking the cup though, because Harry stretched across the gap between them, gently grabbing the cup and moving it next to his. Taking both hands, he encased Draco's, gently squeezing the pale hands.

"Relax Dray, take a couple deep breaths. It's okay, everyone reacts in different ways. In fact, that's why I had my head down for most of the dinner, because I didn't want to face emotions I was feeling," Harry admitted, still not letting go of Draco's hands. Draco contemplated what Harry said.

"I thought you hated me, that's also part of the reason why I ran, the irrational part of my brain thought that running would have been better than asking you if you hated me," Each word Draco spoke was one hundred percent true, he felt like he owed Harry the truth after beating around the bush for months.

"Draco," Harry frowned, subconsciously stroking the back of Draco's hands with his thumbs. Draco looked at their hands, not wanting to look into the piercing green eyes.

"I could never hate you Draco," Harry stated, and Draco lightly smiled. Draco stared at their hands some more, gathering up some more courage before he spoke his next sentence.

"Harry, have you ever liked someone so much that your stomach erupted in nerves every time you were around them. That something as simple as a letter from them made you smile. Someone that makes you nervous, even if you were close friends with them? Because I do," Draco was a blushing mess at the end, even though he didn't slip Harry's name into the mess of sentences. Harry smiled lightly, a blush also forming on his cheeks.

"I have. I didn't realize that I liked this person until recently, but I think I liked them for months if that makes sense. I get nervous around him, and he always makes me laugh and smile even on my bad days. I couldn't get him out of my head for days, which led to a Hospital Wing trip," Harry smiled while talking, eyes on Draco the whole time. The Slytherin was oblivious to his gaze, eyes still focused on their hands. Shortly afterwards, the blonde spoke again.

"What made you realize your feelings?" Draco asked, heartbeat loud. He had a slight feeling as to who it was, but he needed Harry to say it.

"I don't know, I think it was a date that my godson and a few others set us on," Draco's grey eyes snapped up to Harry's emerald eyes, which were on him the whole time. Draco blinked a few times, a pink tint adorning his porcelain complexion. Harry smiled in reassurance before leaning forward, kissing the blonde's forehead.

"The person's you Dray,"

1035 words. Sorry for the few weeks it took to write this. Not only has it taken me a while to figure out what to write, but I finished high school while the world has been going more and more insane so I didn't write for a bit. 2020 keeps throwing plot twists at us. Next chapter will be out not too long from now, because I have lots of ideas.

Question of the chapter: who's your favorite Harry Potter character?
