All staff has noticed Jennie's tense face and it brings fear in them to go see her. They knew she will get mad easily at small things and the files will fly out of her room if they did not satisfy her.
Even when she is not in bad mood, she is still a cold dictator. But a bit nicer and considerable. No staff members ever saw her smile or hear her laugh or even sneaker.
She is strict when it comes to work, many workers cannot stand her hot temper but it did not make them resign as the salary is high and Chairman Kim is nice. Eventually, they get used to Jennie's coldness but fear is still there.
Jennie cannot bring herself to focus on work today, her mind keeps thinking about her parent's terms. It is ridiculous no matter how many times she thinks.
She needs a solution, a way out of this nonsense.
She was too deep in thought that make her flinched when the door was knocked.
Someone entered her room right away without getting her permission first.
"Oh, it's you" said Jennie casually, recognizing the rude staff was her only buddy in that company.
"What's up with that tone? Having problems?" asked Yerin and sit across her.
Yerin is older than Jennie and their lifestyle is a bit similar which made them synced. She is the only person to whom Jennie will listen and look for advice.
"My parents want to marry me off" said Jennie, telling her problem to get some solution.
Hearing that made Yerin freeze for seconds and her eyes widened as she was surprised.
"For real?" asked Yerin and burst into laughter as she found it funny that in nowadays era, parents would still decide to whom their child should marry.
"Yes! And it's not funny, Yerin!" answered Jennie and slam the table. Furious that she got laughed at when she was being serious.
"Sorry. I'm not laughing at you, but the thought of the arranged marriage. We live in the modern era, you know. Even Prince William married his girlfriend" said Yerin, explaining herself to calm her boss.
"I know, right? It's absurd. Put on terms for me as heirs. Not make sense at all!" said Jennie, releasing her stress. Yerin is the right person with whom she can share everything without being backstabbed.
"Did you agree?" asked Yerin.
Jennie let out a sigh and lean her head on the chair headrest.
She nodded.
"Why?" asked Yerin, wondering why Jennie agreed to the marriage thing.
"They will kick me from the house and the company if I refuse" replied Jennie, telling the truth.
"They're mean to me" said Jennie in a weak tone.
"I get why they do it" said Yerin and it got Jennie's attention. Jennie looks at Yerin sharply, demanding an answer.
"Look at your behavior. Rude, dictator, heartless, drunker, hot temper, and what else?" said Yerin while counting with her fingers.
"You didn't care about your family reputation but you did take care of this company well, I'm not gonna deny it. But the problem is your attitude. That's why they want to marry you with some guy that they certain he can change you or maybe they want to lock you down after the marriage" add Yerin.
Jennie let out another sigh. She knows what Yerin said was true. Her behavior is worse, she admits it but to control her by marriage is too much!
"Actually it's she not he" replied Jennie, correcting Yerin's statement.
