MERMAIDS OF THE LONELY COAST (BOOK 1)

CHAPTER TEN

 "THE END OF A NEW BEGINNING"
early the next morning, Cleo escorted them to the beach, there was no one around, Cleo felt a little sad, Ruth was going for a short while, some days perhaps, apparently Yura and Carmen  were not used to be outside the water yet, especially Yura, she totally lost control, sometimes Cleo forgot that they weren't humans, not even Ruth, Ruth didn't belong here, she choose to be here and there at the same time, they were all different species, the ocean was theirs, like the land is hers, she couldn't shake off the sad feeling, she knew she'll see them again. She wondered how many more of other creatures existed in this world that no one knew of, meeting Carmen and Yura opened her mind to the many probabilities in the world. She watch them dive into the  water, while she clung to their clothes, Ruth's clothes, she knew there was so much more to be uncovered, Ruth had some much more to find out about herself... And Mating season was not too far off.
She smiled and walked away, let the ocean water brush her feet.

Ruth turned to look at Yura, she looked normal, apparently staying on land for too long wasn't good for either of them, Carmen placed her hand on Ruth's shoulder and swam ahead of them, she smiled and went after her, Yura didn't try to compete, she was obviously faster. Two shacks swam above them, they swam lower and deeper into the ocean, it was a long journey to Lonely coast and they had to get there before night. Ruth's speed has increased, she was getting stronger and faster, soon she will develop into her full capacity.

They arrived just in time for the ceremony, they joined the others and traveled deep into lonely coast, Ruth payed attention to their culture and lifestyle. When a Merfolk died, the strongest and fastest  Merfolks in the tribe swim to the dept of the sea with the body and in between two large and tall stones, they let the body drop down, Ruth, Carmen and Yura were honoured with the opportunity to be among the ones that dragged the body down, Yura's speed was greatly appreciated, Carmen tribe were not known for speed, the tribe was shorter with her around, after the burial they returned back and continued their life, like nothing happened. Ruth choose to stay for a bit longer with them. Now that she'd quite her job, she could spend time with her people.
She was home, truly home.
