My peaceful slumber doesn't seem to last long. After what feels like only a couple of hours, I wake up to Abbie shaking me roughly.
"Wake up! Our alarm didn't go off!" she yells.
"W-what?! What time is it?" I throw the covers off of me and jump out of bed to see Katie racing around the room with a pop tart in her mouth, trying to get our clothes ready for us.
"It's 7:30! We have 30 minutes before school starts!"
I make some sort of a growl before I rush into the bathroom with clothes in my arms. After 20 minutes, we all grab our bags and run out the door to get to our classes in time. I'm running down the halls as fast as I can, trying not to run into anything. Just as I round the corner, I almost crash into another student. Thankfully, my fast reflexes kick in as I manage to barely dodge him.
"Sorry!" I shout, not bothering to turn around. I finally see my classroom. I duck into the class and take a seat right as the bell rings. Whew, that was a close one. Any longer and I would've been late.
"Ok class, get out your textbooks and turn to page 106."

The lunch bell finally rings after what feels like an eternity. I've been so exhausted ever since this morning and it just keeps getting worse. I've had a quiz in English, Calculus, and Chemistry. Plus, I still have Art and PE left. At least I have an hour of lunch and get to hang out with Katie and Abbie.
By the time I get there, it's already crowded. It takes forever to get my lunch but once I do, I head to a table in the corner where Katie and Abbie are already waiting for me. As soon as I sit down, my stomach makes a loud rumble which makes them start laughing.
"I guess you're not hungry, huh?" jokes Katie. I stick my tongue at her which makes her laugh even harder.
"You try skipping breakfast and waiting for four hours to eat."
"You should have at least ate a pop tart like we did."
"Yea, yea. I'll listen to you guys next time." I'm finally full after scarfing down my lunch. We only have half an hour left when Abbie starts telling us a story about what happened in her chorus class.
"...And so this guy, falls off the bleachers, and-"
"Attention, can I have Emily Thompson, Abbie Littleton, and Katie Anderson report to the headmistress' office please," says a lady over the intercom.
"Looks like Christy needs us," I say as we throw our trash away. You see, when Christy sent us here, she informed the headmistress about our "other life." So Headmistress Mira, or Melissa as she wants us to call her, is the only other person besides Christy and us who knows our secret. She's a slender, middle-aged woman with short, straight, brown hair and dark brown eyes. She's one of the sweetest people you can meet but you do not want to get on her bad side. She can be your worst nightmare if she chooses to be.
She gets off the phone when we finally reach her office. "Hi Melissa." She smiles when I call her by her first name.
"Hi girls! Shut the door and take a seat." She waits as we do as she says before telling us anything. Don't want anyone overhearing us. "So I just got off the phone with Christy. She didn't tell me anything about the details this time, but she needs you guys for a mission. She wants you all at HQ as soon as possible so I'll have you all dismissed from your classes."
"Awesome," Abbie whispers under her breath.
"It is, so you girls should go get changed and head out." I look over at Abbie and see she's blushing a little. Apparently she thought she was too quiet to be heard. "Let me know if you need anything."
