Dubredo One Shots

The pandemic made him looked drained and exhausted with his tired facial features, eyes down he still manage to materialize tough composure. This is not the time to stop, not a time for excuses he told himself. He was prepared, prepared of anything that might happen in his reign, of course he prepared himself for a battle but the crisis had cost so much, he may appeared very strong but inside he is slowly falling, he begun to think if the people deserved him.

The citizens needs a government that will fight with and for them not other way around. He thought again.

He ought to serve his country, his beloved people and he will do everything to give his countrymen the promised he once said, he will bring and give it 'till his last.

He was massaging his temple while scrolling social media to be updated of people's rants and cries. Well a philosopher once said critics are healthy for an administration. It's all he can muster after reading comments about the governments effort. The people are restless, the virus hit them hardly. Since when were you interested of people's rave like mad man. He chuckled lightly and shake his head.

But what caught his attention and keep him attended was hers,

...a clear message to every dissenting voice:
Keep quite or your next.

He sigh deeply and take his phone from his pocket and dialed a no. The other line kept on ringing.

"sagutin mo man p*---
he was about to curse when someone spoke from the other line.

"hello?" the other line answered.

"Just because the verdict wasn't in favour to you or shall I say TO ALL OF YOU"
he emphasize the words,
"doesn't mean it is another attack on people's freedom and an attack to silence the administration's critics." he ended.

The other line was silent for a moment, when the person was about to speak he cut her off.

"palagi ba pag may nangyayari sa mga kritiko, ako ang masisisi? Husgado Leni, husgado ang nagconvict hindi man ako at lalong hindi ang opisina ko." he ranted.

"masisisi mo ba kami na di mag-iisip ng ganyan Rodrigo? sige! sige nga e-explain mo yung una kay si Sereno, kay De Lima, sa ABS- CBN at tapos ngayon si Ressa! Kritiko mo lahat yan Rod. Sige kung wala kang kinalaman ipaintindi mo yung kay Mocha, at kay Sinas?"
Leni accused.

"At umabot pa talaga ang usapan kay Sereno, De Lima ma'am? ganyan kaba mag-isip na ako ang may pakana ng lahat? Ako ang nasa likod, kaya ayan nakuha ang pwesto ng isa at yung isa nakulong? dahil lang kritiko ko sila kaya ginawa ko yan? Kung nagawa ko yan ma'am di yun dahil kritiko sila kundi dahil nag kasala sila sa batas, sino ba humawak ng kaso ni Sereno at De Lima ako ba ma'am? Ako ba? Sa ABS-CBN pati ako damay, kasalan ko ulit ma'am na expire na ang prangkisa? At kasalanan ko ulit dahil ang verdict kay Ressa ay guilty sa cyber libel? Bakit di mo rin isisi sa'kin ang virus dahil pinili ko maging pro-China." He challenged.

"Kay Mocha diba may nagfile na ng kaso ma'am? Kay Sinas ma'am sinabi ko lang na mabait yung tao at kailangan ko siya sa pwesto pero hindi ibig sabihin abswelto." He continued.

"Rodrigo halata na ng nakararami, di mo na nababasa? Hindi kaba sinasabihan ng gabinite mo? May Anti-Terror Bill pa nga oh! ano? di paba sapat na basihan yan?"

"Hindi ng nakararami Leni, hindi ng nakararami, kundi iilan-iilan lang. Anti-Terror Bill? Bakit ma'am may linabag ba sa demokasya niyo yan? ma'am pinagbutuhan yan at alam mo na sa demokrasya. Majority rules, minority rights. He countered.

"Alam mong hindi lang Pilipinas ang kasali diyan ma'am marami tayong kaalyansa sa ibang bansa na isinusulong---

"Pero ngayon ba dapat yan unahin Rod? Sa gitna ng pandemya?" she spoke in high pitch leaving him no choice to shut up.

"Bakit hindi ma'am, hindi natin hawak ang utak ng terorista ma'am pano kung umatake yan sa gitna ng krisis? May na ambush nga tayo diba mga escorts na dapat maghahatid ng tulong sa gitna ng pandemya, hindi nga sila nanahimik at nagrerecruit pa! Kailan man natin dapat yan ipasa sa matapos ang pandemya? Kailan matatapos ang pandemya ma'am, pag may vaccine na? Kailan ba madidiskubre ang vaccine? Wala tayong alam,kung kaya natin pagsabayin lahat ngayon bakit hindi kung para sa tao."

"Bakit hindi natin unahin solusyonan at aksyonan yung mas kailangan? Maraming tao ang humihingi ng tulong Rod, pero inuna niyo yan!" she said angrily.

"Yan ba talaga ikinagagalit mo o dahil mga ka-

"Pagaawayan din ba natin ang kulay ngayon Rod?" she brawled.

"Bakit hindi ma'am? Bakit hindi kung palagi sa statement niyo yun ang pinalalabas niyo?"

"Bakit hindi ba Rodrigo, hindi ba?"

"Ganyan ba kababaw ang tingin mo sa'kin? Akala ko maiintindihan mo pero mukhang akala ko lang pala lahat, bakit pa ako--

"Wag mo isali sa usapan natin yan Rodrigo!" She cut him off

"Bakit hindi?"

"Kasi hindi ito ang dapat na oras na pag-usapan yan"

"Kailan ang tamang oras ma'am, maghihintay na naman ba ako sa wala? Okay lang sanay na akong paasahin eh!"

"Rodrigo alam mo--

"Ano man ma'am tatakbuhan mo ulit? Palagi ka nalang bang tatakbo pero pag sa isyung ganto lakas ng tira mo? Hindi pa ba doon yun? Nasaktan ka pero ako ma'am hindi? Kung nasaktan ka mas nasaktan ako, Kung mas nasaktan ka pinaka-nasaktan ako." He uttered painfully.

"Rod please wag ngayon" she pleaded.

"Ganyan tayo eh! Rodrigo wag ngayon, Rod please wag ngayon, Rod di pa to ang tamang oras, Rodrigo maghintay ka pa." Palagi ako yung tumitiklop dapat ako yung bumababa kailan kaba baba para sa'kin ma'am?" He stated hopefully, hurt was evident in his voice.

"ma'am?" He called but the other line went off. He smiled sadly.

He reminiscence the love that ended because of their political differences, the thought that he had hardly fight for it but she gave up and ended it like a one night stand where you can fuck and run, made him succumbed to the pain of desire. How many times does he have to tell himself that fairytale is just a product of imagination, that you cannot love and live with it like a dream, its to good to be true. Love is wonderful like a dream of reality but a sadly reality is walking like a nightmare. It is sad but it is reality, you had your past and will remain in the past.
