Day 1 of Training
The class trained hard, each of them working to improve their quirks. Team 7 sat far away from the class, on top of the mountainside. They had a perfect view of the class and their showing of abilities.
While Sasuke personally had no interest in the students themselves, he was interested in their power. After all, if Kaguya did end up attacking he needed to be able to find out who could possibly last against her in a fight.
Although it wasn't the same for his teammates. Naruto was genuinely curious about the upcoming heroes as well as Sakura. The people here weren't bad at all, so it didn't hurt to make a few friends. Especially in a world they knew almost nothing about.
"These students are pretty powerful." Naruto observed.
"Yeah, I bet they'll be great fighters one day." Sakura agreed.
Sasuke grunted, almost glaring down at the students. Personal attachments to these people were useless, they needed to fight Kaguya. Kaguya was merciless, only a couple of the students here would stand a chance to survive. They may be powerful here but in the world of ninjas, no way.
"So you're watching the students' training?" A voice popped up from behind the team.
The team turned around to see the tired teacher of class 1-A facing them with his hands in his pockets.
"There's something that has been bothering me about your story, Naruto." Aizawa spoke monotonously, "You say you're 16 and 17 right? You're not even adults but you claim you were fighting on the frontlines."
Team 7 looked at Aizawa with slight confusion. In the world of shinobi it wasn't uncommon for people as old as 11 risking their lives on missions. After all they fought people like Zabuza when they were just 12.
Sakura looked up at Aizawa, "Ninjas don't go on missions based on age, there's ranks when it comes to Shinobi. Jonin are the highest, then Chunin and last is Genin. The Jonin and Chunin were sent to fight, they're made up of mostly people who are about 15 and above. Genin's are mostly 12 and 13, they're mostly rookies who just became ninjas. We left them in our villages to protect the people just in case. I think the younger Chunin were left with the Genins too. Our worlds work very differently, it seems. We focus on power, it's what is needed right now sadly." She explained.
"You're only kids and you're already fighting in a war..." Aizawa's voice trailed off.
"Oi! We're not kids!" Naruto piped up. "We are Shinobi of the hidden leaf village!"
Sasuke sighed, "Aren't you still a Genin you moron?" He mumbled.
"It's only because I missed the Chunin Exams ya know!" Naruto yelled.
"Yeah and you were dumb enough to lose the first time." Sasuke replied shortly.
"You lost too!"
Sakura sighed, "Naruto, you weren't even supposed to fight in the war."
"Sasuke wasn't supposed to show up either!"
Aizawa stared down at the bickering team, Even though they fought in a war they're still kids I guess.
Suddenly there was a loud yelp quickly followed by the sound of crackling. Team 7 jumped up along with Aizawa to find the source of the sounds. They ran down the mountains and found both Iida and Kaminari on the ground. A couple of students surrounded the two, asking if they were ok.
Sakura and Aizawa were at their side in a flash. They both examined the students carefully for any major injuries.
"What happened?" Aizawa asked as he kneeled over Kaminari.
"Iida ran into Kaminari by accident and he shocked him!" Mina explained quickly.
"The electricity luckily avoided any areas that would cause major injuries, it didn't damage any nerves or organs. He has a few burns and is unconscious but he'll be fine." Sakura relayed.
Aizawa and Mina looked over to Sakura in surprise. The pink haired shinobi had her hands hovered over Iida, a green glow emanating from them. It wasn't long until the burns on Iida was gone.
"How are you doing that?!" Sero exclaimed, who stood next to Mina.
Sakura looked up at him, "I'm a medic." She answered simply, "Aizawa, I'm going to look at Kaminari ok?"
Aizawa nodded, stepping away from the blonde. Sakura propped Iida against a nearby tree and went to Kaminari's side. She hovered her hands over his body, Kaminari had his eyes open, but they were half lidded and were drooling.
"He has a sprain in his right wrist and is in shock, I'll have to treat his wrist." Sakura gently held his hand, a green glow surrounded her hand again. After a few minutes she stood up, and looked back to Aizawa, "Kaminari should avoid using his hand for the rest of the day and Iida will need a bit of rest but they're fine." Sakura smiled, "They should be able to train fully tomorrow."
"Thank you Sakura." Aizawa nodded, "Mina, Sero, help carry them into the cabins."
Mina and Sero nodded, they swiftly picked up the two and carried them away.
"So I'm guessing that was a healing chakra?" Aizawa spoke up after the students were out of sight.
"Yup, Sakura is the best healer around!" Naruto smiled.
Sakura smiled, "Thanks, Naruto."
Weren't they just fighting...? Aizawa thought.
The tired teacher sighed, "Well the day is almost over, later today the students are going to have to make their own food. You don't have to, but you should cook with the students." Aizawa stated.
Sasuke said nothing, he had stayed quiet throughout the day. He couldn't believe how stupid and naive they were.
They can't get attached, we have to find a way out first. Why can't those idiots realize this?
During all of this, Sasuke was desperately trying to figure out how to get back. His mind always drew a blank. It frustrated him to no end, it didn't help either when his teammates would rather get close to everyone else than help with an escape plan. Sasuke had goals, plans that he would do anything to finish. He needed to get back.
What Sasuke didn't know was that Naruto felt incredibly depressed. Naruto knew he wasn't the smartest in his group, but even the tailed beasts had no clue when it came to escape. Naruto had goals too, promises that were yet to be fulfilled. Naruto was just as desperate to get home as Sasuke, maybe even more.
Like Naruto, Sakura had duties to fulfill as Tsunade's student. She wanted to get back to her parents, her friends, her home. Sakura had only one thought on her mind:
Team 7 WILL make it back home and defeat Kaguya.
