The rest of the summer went by so fast, I thought I was on a broomstick the whole time. Its a feeling I get a lot.

Before I knew it, Father was taking me and Draco to Kings Cross. He dropped us off and then went back home to Mum, who was hurting something awful. Before he left, though, he told us, "If either of you screw up, I want to hear from the other one, you hear?"

"Yes, Father."

"And I don't want to hear anything bad from Dumbledore, either."

"Yes, Father."

"And no more of this Mudblood nonsense," this one directed at me.

"Yes, Father," I said, knowing full well I would not heed.

"Right then, I'm off. You kids be good."

"Yes, Father."

And with that, he was gone. Draco pushed to the front of the platform and disappeared. How typical of him not to wait.

I pushed, but I couldn't get to the platform. I spotted Harry and Ron, and I walked over to them.

"Hi, Leila!" Harry said, delighted to see me.

"Hi, Harry. I can't get through to the platform, and it's almost 11:00. Er, that is the time the train leaves, right?" I asked, since I was new here.

"Yeah," said Ron, "We couldn't get past the crowd either. We'll have to wait."

So we waited.

And waited.

And waited.

Finally, I couldn't stand waiting anymore. I shoved through the crowd, and finally, I got there.

"Guys, guys!! Come on! We're gonna miss it!" It was currently 10:55. We had five minutes to get on the train, or we wouldn't be going to Hogwarts. Harry and Ron met up with me and together, we ran towards the barrier. I saw Draco do this, so when I closed my eyes, I somehow knew that I was supposed reappear on the other side.

But, nooooo. The barrier had other plans. We crashed into a plain brick wall. Our luggage bounced, Hedwig and Brutus squawked loudly, causing the Muggle passersby to stare at us weird.

"What the--" I said.

Me, Harry and Ron toppled over each other, and Ron bounced a little farther than me and Harry.

I had a soft landing. Unfortunately, Harry wasn't so lucky. From a few feet away, we heard a sickening slap of Ron's head hitting the pavement. I groaned and sat up.

"Sorry, Harry." He grunted as he, too, got up.

"I'm fine. Not sure about Ron, though,he hit his head pretty hard," Harry said, his face a little red.

We ran over to Ron. "Ron, are you okay?"

"Ughh, I think I'm gonna have a bruise there for a while. But other than that, I think I'm okay." I looked at the time, and my heart nearly stopped. "Oh, no! It's 10:59! We only have one minute, and the barrier is closed!! What do we do now?? "

Harry and Ron gave each other a look, like they just had an idea.

"What? What is it?"

Harry smiled slyly.

"Have you ever ridden in a flying car?"
