Whale Island
On a little island set in the middle of the ocean, no bigger than the size of a whale, many creatures roamed around in a forest. On top of a tree over looking a lake; a fishing rod is seen dangling from one of the many branches on the tree. It seems as if the fishing rod was was being held by nothing but the air as if it was some sort of magic trick, but upon closer inspection; if you take closer look, there was a , who looked no older than 13 years old, was holding onto the said rod. He had on camouflage which consisted of the leaves that had fallen from the tree's branches, or they were purposefully picked off. The boy sat patiently as if waiting for something to get caught on the fishing line, you could see that he was in a state of immense concentration, and no matter what provoked the boy, whether it be the chirping of the birds, or the occasional frogs jumping around him, the boy did not flinch one bit. The fishing lure stayed calm as it floated above the water's surface, waiting to show any signs of movement from down below. In a matter of seconds the lure started moving vigorously, indicating that something had taken the bait, and got caught on the hook. The creatures that surrounded the boy, flinched in surprise, as they saw him move a bit forward tugging harshly on the pole. Fighting fiercely with whatever was caught on the line, the boy's camouflage came undone and he was being pulled by force closer to the edge of the branch.
"There it is!....Got it! Got it!" he exclaimed, as he saw the shadow of the creature below, a strained smile on his face. He continued to play tug of war with the creature below, when suddenly he used all his strength to pull the creature out of the water, and out came a almost twice the size of the boy. He shouted with glee, saying 'It's over!' as he was the one who emerged victorious from their little battle.
Running towards his destination, with the large fish over his head, the boy wore a big smile on his face as passers-by looked in shock at him with disbelief in the expressions. He threw the fish down in the centre of a crowd and turned towards a , with light coloured hair, a red dress shirt, and a pale coloured skirt that stopped at her ankles, with brown boots worn on her feet.
"Well" an elderly woman commented, as others in the background 'ooh'ed' and 'ahh'ed' at the sight in front of them. "Even with five men, we wren't ale to catch the pond's master..." one man muttered, the look of surprise never leaving his face. "I've fished here for 10 years, and I thought we'd never get to see it!" another exclaimed with his hand on his chin. "Very strong this boy" one other man voiced, his nose uncommonly larger than the two who spoke before him.
"I FISHED THE POND'S MASTER LIKE I PROMISED!! YOUR TURN TO KEEP YOUR PROMISE, MITO-SAN!" the boy loudly exclaimed showing a piece of paper to the woman, whom he called Mito-san, with a bright and determined expression on his face. It was an inscription card for the hunter's exam. Mito looked at the card wordlessly, a worried expression clearly shown on her face.
"Come on! Accept! Let him pass the exam!" on of the men standing by said a worry free smile spread across his face. "Yeah! I'm sure Gon be a very good hunter!" another agreed with the same expression as the guy he stood next to. However Mito did not share the same opinion with them and her worried expression change to an angry one in a matter of seconds.
"Grr!.. How careless! Pay attention to what you say!" Mito seethed, not happy with what they boldly claimed to her. They quickly became quiet not wanting to feel anymore more of Mito's wrath, as she glared at them.
