Navigator- Where the test to become a hunter takes place changes every year. Those who know this place and guides the candidates there are called navigators. Without them, it is impossible to reach the testing place. To reduce the number of applicants, traps are lain along the way that leads to the testing site, a path that is difficult to find.
"How dark it is here!...A two hours walk?" Leorio complained "Two hours? No way! Two hours ago we'd already walked two hours!" Night had fallen, and the group of four walked on the path, which would lead them to their next location.
"Another sign...'Attention: Monsters!' At this rate, do you think we'll ever get there?" the tallest male of the three protested, as he was starting to get agitated, when he saw no signs of them getting closer to the next trial they were to partake in. He whined that he was hungry and needed to go the bathroom, but no one paid attention to him, until Gon turned around and saw that they were starting to leave Leorio behind.
"Are you coming Leorio?" Gon questioned.
"!...There it is" Kurapika spoke, as they came to face the little cabin house that the old lady told them about, after passing the quiz.
"The couple who lives in the house built by the tree, will be your navigators." the old lady said, a hint of warning laced in her tone telling the four to be careful of next challenge they would face in the next few hours. "If they think you're okay, they'll lead you to the testing place."
"We're finally here!" Leorio exclaimed, happy that they had finally reached the cabin house, for the next part of their challenge.
"How quiet...Are we the only ones to have gotten this far?" Kurapika asked rhetorically. He was honestly surprised that no other participants had made it to this level yet. The four walked up the steps, and Leorio knocked on the door before entering.
"I'm coming in!...huh?!" Leorio spoke, but soon cut himself off as he saw the scene unfolding right before him and his companions.
"Ha ha ha ha...Ahhh" giggled at the four while holding a girl in its hands. Behind them, an injured man laid reaching his hands out, as if trying to tell the monster to stop. A gnarling and wicked smile graced the creature's lips, and it bore its sharp fangs with an eerie laugh escaping it's lips.
"A monster!" the four shouted, as they got in a battle stance and took out their weapons, getting ready to fight the monster. Giving a creepy smile, the monster dashed between the four with the woman still in grasp, and crashed the the window of the house, running into the woods.
"We must help!" Gon advised, as he, Kurapika and (Y/n) went ahead, to chase after the monster.
"Leorio take care of the wounded!" Kurapika commanded to which Leorio nodded his head in agreement.
"You can count on me!" Leorio reassured, immediately attending to the injured man, while the others went to save the girl.
"My wife... save her..." the man said, wishing to get his wife back from that cursed creature. (Y/n), Kurapika and Gon had ran out of the house, but they had lost sight of the monster and were currently trying to find it whereabouts.
"He's escaped to the forest!.. But where exactly?!" Kurapika asked anxiously.
"There!" Gon suddenly exclaimed, and he and (Y/n) sped off in the direction where the creature had gone, running at an immensely fast pace.
'They are strong and small' Kurapika thought to himself, as he tried to catch up to the two children in front of him, both jumping over the tree branches and dodging small cracks in the earth, without breaking so much as a sweat.
