Black Lifes Matter - Josh Richards

A/N: This is a story part that does contain some racism when it talks about the days of slavery. This is not to offend anyone. If I had done so in anyway please let me know and I will remove this immediately. I am a very strong black lives matter activist. I look up to strong black individuals. This does take place in slavery times.
This was back in the 1600's and segregation was major and how I believe it that slavery was extremely wrong. I also refuse to write racist words so I will be using the n word. I have seen 12 years a slave and it was used a ton during thoes times. Also the people in real life aren't like the ones in this.

( Josh's POV)

" Father must we attend this. Buying people and using them as slaves is wrong" I said ashamed my father wants me too attend this with him.

" Josh they are just ( N-word). This is how things are. You have to understand that" my father said not looking at me as we walked down the dirt road.

When we arrived I was disgusted when I saw a little girl standing on the stage. She was only 4 from the looks of it. She was standing there afraid. Afraid of being taken from her family.

My father said " You pick a slaves you want and I will get them for you".

I looked around and saw a girl around my age and I said " I refuse to pick one".

My father said angry " you will pick a ( N-word) and that is final Josh".

My dad said " Fine I will pick for you, you will be greatful in even getting a ( N-word) for you".

I said " I told you I do not want one".

Then the action person said " Sophia Mitchell, Age 15, 100 pounds".

My father raised his hand and said " 25".

Eventually things continued and we ended up getting her and 2 others.

I really hated the thought of this. It was wrong. One of my friends I've made is a slave. Truely wronged. If I ever said that outside I'd be surely in tons of trouble.

As we arrived home I saw my close friends Bryce, Jaden and Anthony.

As we walked around the cotton fields I saw Anthony looking at a girl our age. She was pretty and Anthony looked smittin but that could eventually cause danger in lives.

---- 3 months later ---

" Josh! Josh are you there" I heard Sophia whisper. She was the girl choose by my father when I went with him.

" I'm here. Sophia quickly take the other girls with you. Run. Go to freedom. Be careful. Don't get caught" I said handing her a sack with food and things she will need.

I fell in love with Sophia over the last few months. We meet in secret and it was amazing.

" May daughter was afraid to walk down the halls cause there was a painting about the KKK"

" I'm scared daddy, scared they are gonna kill me because of my skin colour"

" Remember always have your id with you wherever you go my mom always said. If a police stops you must have it"

All this stuff I was told at a black lives matter rally. It's disturbing and wrong people are called these horrible things.
