Meeting Myself

About two years after college, I started getting into the metaphysical world. I wanted to find reasons for existing, for what I was going through because I sure wasn't doing what I thought I would be doing now. My expectations were false by a long shot.

I felt lost and alone so I was open to anything. There's this Bowie quote, "Religion is for people who fear hell, spirituality is for people who have been there." And that resonated with me on a personal level.

My hairdresser knew that I was getting into spirituality and she told me about this shaman she went to a while back. I'm talking like months. I finally set up an appointment with them.

During my time with them, They gave me tarot cards to help, some tools, and books to read. They also walked me through meeting a guide.

A guide to me is someone who can't leave you. They protect you and help guide you on your journey in other dimensions. It was there that I met a guide who helped me find myself.

My guide was a lion, and since I think about or talk to them in my head them I've found this stronger side of me. This tough beast of a woman who doesn't have to take it. A woman who can decide her own future.

My guide is always with me. When I get scared or think of their name a few times; I feel secure. It's like their name is a prayer for assurance. If I ever what to tap into how a badass I am, I ask them to walk with me.
