Chapter 38

Jace POV

Clary's been asleep for a while now so I went up to our room to see her curled up on her side with her hands wrapped around her stomach.I walks over to her and cupped her cheek.

"Clary.Wake up,Baby its time for dinner."I said.

"But I'm still tired."she said.

"Clary you've slept half of the day!"I said.

"Really?"she asked.

"Yeah."

"What's for dinner?"

"They ordered Chinese takeout.Alec just got back."

"Okay.Go on down.I'll be there in a minute."

"Okay."

I walked out of the room and downstairs.I sat down by Alec and waited for her to come down.

Clary POV

When Jace left the room,I walked into the bathroom and was going to use the bathroom but my stomach had other ideas.I ended up throwing up once again.This is really getting old.I mean I love that I'm having kids but the sickness is just getting plain old.I washed my face off and headed downstairs.When I got to the dining room,I took my seat next to Isabelle and dug in.

"Thanks so much guys!This is awesome."I said when I finished.

"Are you feeling okay,Clary?You haven't eaten like you usually do?"Alec asked.

"Yeah I'm fine.Just not too hungry right now."I said.

"Clary you need to eat.You're not only feeding yourself,but you're also feeding three children.I've noticed that you haven't eaten like usual."Isabelle said.

"Guys leave her alone.She's fine.She ate a huge breakfast this morning."Jace said.

"I'm going back upstairs if you guys are going to be this way."I said.

"Clary we just don't want anything to happen to the babies!"Isabelle said.

"Yeah well Isabelle,if you don't remember correctly, I have had two other children and they turned out just fine.I ate exactly how I am now.And anyway when you have carried and birthed children yourself,then I might allow you to tell me how to raise my kids.Until then,back off."I said.

"Clary...."she started.

"You know what,never mind.I'm going to be in my room if you need me."I said and I walked back upstairs. When I got to our room,I went in,closed the door,locked it,and went and layed on the bed.A couple minutes later I heard the faint,click,as someone put a key in and unlocked the door.

"Isabelle,if you're here to apologize,I don't want to hear it."I said.

"Its not Isabelle,its Jace."

"Oh.Sorry."

"Its okay."

"I'm really sorry about earlier."I said.

"There is no reason for you to apologize,Clary.You were right.She shouldn't tell you how to do this."He said as he sat down next to me.He started rubbing my back ad next thing I know its morning,Have is next to me,and one of the three babies are kicking.

"Jace!Have wake up!"I said.

"What?Is everything okay?"

"Yeah.Let me see your hand."

He gives me his hand and I put it where the kicks are coming from.

"Is that....."

"Yeah."

"Wow Clary.Is it bad we don't even know which one it is?"

All I did was laugh and drift off into sleep once again.
