(eh just wanted to write this, they need their history shown)

Pete's Backstory;

I was born in 1749. I fought in the Revolution against America, in the British Battalion. The King appointed me to be at the right hand side of General Howe. Howe didn't like me very much so he sent me with a troop of about 20 young men to send a surprise to the rebels we were supposed to fight. I wasn't afraid we were going to die. I wasn't even for the side I was fighting for. We were living in luxury while they paid taxes.

When my troop walked right into a troop of rebels, I told them to shoot and not to retreat. In the end, 2 of them got away. 19 men were bleeding out. Including me. My last breath was painful, and afterwards, I found myself standing on the gates to Hell. Often, I go to visit America and its scenery. That's how I met Patrick.

And also the raccoons, I love raccoons. Except I can't tell their gender, so they are all nonbinary to me. Patrick taught me what nonbinary was.

Patrick's Backstory;

I was born in 1836, Illinois. I came from a family of pioneers who settled in Illinois. When I was only 24, I was drafted into The Union Militia. I had very little idea of what was happening, but my fellow soldiers filled me in that the South just separated from the Union because of slavery. They left my brother and sisters at home to carry the family name and bloodline. I was the oldest and smart. Let me tell you, shooting a man isn't something you can shake off, it weighs you down, daily, like their ghost is haunting you from inside your soul. Every day, every time I killed someone, I prayed. Prayed that they hadn't gone to Hell or stuck in Purgatory. These men were forced into a war. Just like me.

4 years later, our troop got word the South finally surrendered. We were getting out of the South when it happened. Southern troops that hadn't heard the war was over gave us a surprise attack. I was shot in the chest. It didn't hurt, but I had fallen off my horse. The medic did his best, but too many of us were being attacked. I finally took a final breath and found myself balanced between Purgatory and Heaven. They had decided, to my luck, that I was worthy enough to go to Heaven.
